Nice, dcp! Make sure your name gets spelled correctly!
Indeed. I always enjoy your Flickr photos. Often the link gets forwarded to my mother.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

That closes?

But that's why they have minions.
Good luck ita.
Someone is desperate to reach the officemate. The pager is going off, his cell, the regular phone...
Health- and head-ma, ita.
Did anyone else catch the American version of Creature Comforts on Monday? I thought it was pretty true to the original (as it should be since Aardman did it), though I suspect it won't last long. I didn't see any publicity for it beforehand.
Also, Bruce Campbell's new Old Spice commercial is hilarious.
I caught about 15 minutes of it (Creature Comforts), which was sweet and funny. I give it a couple more episodes, though being the summer season, perhaps they'll let it run through....
omg, Shrift, that meal sounds absolutely amazing. I am pretty used to fancy meals due to a good friend who is the food editor of a magazine here frequently needing dining companions and I've had more than my fair share of fantastic food (on the magazine's dime, natch!) but I don't think there is a place in B'more that can really compare. I guess I really need to (save up and) go to Chicago. for real.
sarameg, do you have a dentist here? I really like the one i've been going to for years now. I recommended them to my best friend, who has what sounds like similar dental phobia issues as you. she hadn't been to one in 10 years. And she's a medical professional! She liked my dentist pretty well considering. They were gentle and non-judgemental with her and arranged for her to split up an appointment into two visits so it wouldn't be too overwhelming...of course, she psyched herself out of returning for the second visit but still...she said it wasn't too bad.
I've got one recc'd near work, by coworkers with the same insurance. If that falls through, I'll ask you!

Cool! The bad thing about mine is they don't take insurance so you have to pay upfront but then they file the claim for you and the insurance reimburses. It's worth it to me because I know them now and trust them.
I lucked out in finding my dentist. I had last been to one soon after I started working here back in 1992, and then when I tried to make another appointment with her about a year or so later (even though I didn't love her, she was okay enough for a revisit), I found out she was no longer on my insurance plan. So, instead of looking for another one, I just blew it off.
Ten years later (about two years ago), my boss was talking about her new dentist near work here that she liked a lot, so I asked her for his name. When I went in, I found out that my one-to-two brushings a day (no flossing) over that ten year period led to (drum roll, please!) no cavities!! But, I did have significant gum recesssion and loss of tartar on some of my upper molars (I brush too hard), so I didn't skate out of all the potential dental issues.
Since then, I've been going to him twice a year and have had three cavities replaced, but still don't have any new ones.
