Talk about good news, bad news.
It's all good news, really, once I manage to see things that way. I mean, the Post-Doc in the USA may just create an excellent opportunity for me to come visit the USA again, you know? And the not-being-in-the-brit means I have the best excuse to visit my friend and get to actually hold the baby and cuddle him, not just hear him cry. As for the wedding, well, who wants to help me find something to wear?
that's a lot of stuff you've got happening there.
How do you say in English? "It never rains, but it pours"?

Yay. Come to the USA!!
Jesse, did you see Roger this morning?! He was boxing with some cop and then, since he didn't know how to box, he brought out a toy lightsaber. It was classic.
OMG, I did NOT see the lightsaber. That's hilarious!
Darn, The New Zealander just got eliminated on "jardiniere". She spelled it starting with a "g". I wonder if she tried to blame that one on the accent.
She was probably thinking about giardiniera, no?
Yes, Nilly! Visit!
Got the results of Teddy's bloodwork. Creatine and calcium down to within normal levels. High end of normal, but normal. Red blood cells and "baby" red blood cells low, in the anemic range. May also be a minor stomach ulcer (which, with the stress he's been under the last month or so, isn't surprising). Result: Add Pepcid, continue prednisone and appetite stimulant, reduce fluid frequency to every 3 days, more blood work next Friday.
Awesome! When will you know for sure?
I'm not sure exactly. One of our friends is a derby referee here and he let us know the convention organizers were looking for bands and one of our fans who is a rollergirl is in contact with the organizers/she may be one of the organizers. So I expect she'll let us know for sure. I hope we know soon so we can book rooms! I'm sure they'll be filling up quickly.
You'll get to see the water everyday!
I KNOW!!! This is very exciting! I'm going to try to sit outside and read a lot more.
"It never rains, but it pours"?
I've always heard, "When it rains, it pours." Not to be picky, but in case you would wnat to know that.
And, Nilly, yikes that is a lot of big life stuff all at once! Where are your friends going to be living here? You TOTALLY need to come visit them!!!
And, ita, hope the specialist visit is productive.

I've heard both versions. (And, in fact, when I use said phrase, I use "It never rains, but it pours.")
