Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

(I'm also looking at other jobs in the Seattle area, and San Fran, and here in DC. Checking Chicago next, but we'll see how it goes. The one stupid job in Portland seems to have not been interested, or else they're just slow)

Well, my current apartment was sorta the start of gentrification in my current neighborhood. I liked it when I moved in, but it's going to be pretty damn cool in a whole other way once the Target and stuff open a block away.

Mostly I want an apartment that is as cheap as possible, but from which I can walk to some stuff (coffee, drugstore, a bar? public transport?) and isn't too far (driving) from wherever I'd be having fun. I'm OK with marginal neighborhoods--my current one had a drive-by kill someone in my courtyard the week before I moved in. That was four years ago, when teh only things around were the Metro stop (a block away), a CVS, and the 7-11. Nowadays, there's bars, restaurants, a starbucks, another coffeeshop, a grocery store, two drycleaners, and they're building a target/best buy/other stuff a block away.

(In other words, if I work in the burbs, that's cool, there's convenience to teh burbs, and I can do big-box shopping after work...but then I want to live somewhere citified)

Finally caught up. Y'all are goofs and I wish I had been in the middle of it.

Yesterday was a PERFECT day for an amusement park. The weather was beautiful and there were no crowds. Sure, there were people, but the lines were very short and we got to go on everything we wanted. CJ loved the upside down roller coasters - went on by himself a few times even. He is getting so grown up. DH ended up being our 4th, joining us in the afternoon.

Now I want to curl up in bed in a fetal position and whine about being a girl. Instead I'm at work...avoiding the work aspect of this place. Probably shouldn't do that.

Go Meara - choose Washington! edited to add OR SAN FRANCISCO!!!!

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Meara, from what you describe I'd second Plei's suggestion of Lake Forest Park, and you could also consider various neighborhoods in North Seattle, though generally the more personality a neighborhood has, the higher the rents.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Gronklies.

I'm sad that I missed the contest, but it was hilarious. I also got to have dinner with Emily and her AcrossTheHall Teacher friend, which was fun.

Wish I could have made it up to Seattle this weekend. Pout.

Anne, you around? How are things?
