My mom, who was a stylist and knew my hair better than anyone, always used to cut it. When that was no longer possible, I just kept it long because I didn't trust anyone else with it. The few cuts I have had since then have only reinforced my distrust. So today I'm nervous.

Hair is colored. I did use the Garnier Deep Burgundy Brown. I think I like it. Hard to tell with the lights in my bathroom though....will have to take a mirror outside.

Just got back from a walk. Tried the Canal towpath, which was pretty neat. There were turtles in the canal! And some fish, and all kinds of plants that I can't identify (I keep meaning to get a Peterson's Guide so that I can learn what all the plants are.) Very nice, and my brain is no longer jumping all over the place.

GC, I am SO jealous of you. Jealousjealousjealous. There is a whole mass of man-pretty under the same roof, so I? Am sad at not being there.
Zen! The thing to remember? Is that it grows. Nicole was just asking me recently if I miss my long hair, and I do. If I could have it back, I would. But it's all the in-between stuff I hate...I don't know if I'll ever have the patience to grow it out again, but I want to. Meanwhile, I'll bet you'll love the convenience and speedy wash-dry-style time. Plus? You've got a great face--almost any style will look good on you.

Askye! Monarchs are beautiful. Our house is on one of their flight paths to Mexico, so we can sit out in the yard and look up and see them flittering south. Y'all, askye left a voice mail for me the other day. She said, "Hodgins." Wasn't that sweet?
