Suzi, are you currently lightened? It will pull really bright on the lightened areas. You'll want to fill with a neutral brown before putting any red on it.

Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I don't think your boss would care all that much. Blink and look at you funny, sure.
Suzi, you can do the burgundy brown - I like Feria's the best, but they damage your hair like woah... plus, now that I think about it, you might not like the dramatical like I like. So, Feria for BURGUNDYbrown, and Garnier (the green box) for a more balanced color.
The Nutrisse has excellent reviews on Makeup Alley. When they still made my One True Color in that line, I was pretty fond of it.
I think Chocolate Cherry would look really nice on you, as would Cinnamon Stick or Black Cherry.
