I didn't think twice really but just got up and went over and was like, "I know you were joking but that was offensive."
GOOD! Now, let me in the door and point out sir jackass... I can be over in 5. And lisah, if you need another job & have some CSS chops, I'm interviewing. Cannot promise an asshat-free working environment, of course. My Information Manager, Sarcastica, is headed west with her boyfriend um... tomorrow. (Yes, I kind of blew that off in in light of other things). Good news is that some of my students from UB and Loyola saw the post and are applying for the gig - so if you still love being around the corner from about 25 amazing restaurants and so on and so forth (WAH!), don't fret. Just take the guy to Thames Street Park (I'm assuming that is the Park in Question) around 8am and let the dogs have at him.
Raq - it was twins in our case too. Wild. And Suspicious.
PS - I'll loan you my Chicago Manual (or AP, GPO, MLA, or a [hrm - not for work, a gift] CIA style manual) if you need. I'm not sure any have a 'topiary' chapter, but once they emerge from their boxes, I can check.
Emily - PITA re: the "book" boxes. totally sucks.
ETA - Review~ma for paperdol & post-interview~ma for meara.
Back to the leave thing, I get 6 hours of vacation time and 4 hours of sick time every two weeks. And the 12 weeks FMLA thing, which is good, but unpaid, as we all know.
If I'm still employed here, I'll be using whatever I've got come February.
Aimee, sorry you won't be joining me, but I totally get it. I've been thinking about the Miracleborns a lot lately.
I bet, though, there is another pregnant buffistas out there lurking... (I have no actual knowledge, but there always seems to be more than just one...)
You're right - there never is just one pregnant Buffista. Plei - you and I were preggers at the same time, right? We need a list of what Buffista had a baby when.
OK, WHO GOT KNOCKED UP???
we get a good chunk of vacation because of school holidays (but I work through the summer, and I'm bad about not taking all the days), but the maternity leave is unbalanced - the required FMLA, but if it crosses winter break, or spring break, it doesn't extend. it felt like I was losing days that people who scheduled their pregnancies better weren't. But. That's probably the case wherever, and I was just trying to stay out of work as long as possible.
Iris was born November 2004
We're playing "Who's knocked up besides Stephanie?"
You are most definitely not it.
I did not knock up Stephanie.
