Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Because books.

Oh, cake! That looks like it was delectably sinful, vw. And you look so happy! Yay!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I don't want to hijack vw's birthday, but just found out that the mortgage company we were supposed to get our mortgage from WENT BANKRUPT on Friday. Holy shit! Luckily, Countrywide bought them over the weekend somehow. I don't quite understand what went on, but our broker told us our mostgage is fine and our closing should take place as scheduled next week. We're a little freaked out, I gotta say.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Holy crap, Robin.

I can't believe how much more nervewracking this stage of the process is than the early part. I cannot wait until this is final. Finally.

Mostly lurking...

Oh, Robin, that is so freaky. Here's to it all working out smoothly.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Dear lord, Robin, that's freaky! Hope your broker is right and it makes no difference.

Countrywide is, coincidentally, where I'm applying for a mortgage. They supposedly resell

Now tagless for your comfort.

Selling of mortgages is VERY common-lots of mortgage companies do it. Countrywide bought our mortgage once from a smaller company and we did very well with their service. Robin, sorry for the freakiness and I'm hoping everything is ok with your mortgage.

Hec, Phil beat the computer!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hec, Phil beat the computer!

Phew! Just barely.

I liked his description of one of the programs: "Agent Orange was like a crazed, cocaine-driven maniac with an ax," Laak said.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Happy birthday, vw!

Robin, how stress-making! Countrywide bought our mortgage (our lender told us they tend to sell them), and yeah, as Cash said, they've been very easy to deal with.

Eek, Robin, that sounds stressy!

So meara, have you been looking at jobs in Australia?

Heh. It was discussed, one of our former coworkers is Australian, and now back there...a friend of mine just moved to Melbourne (from Christchurch) a few months ago...don't y'all get sabbatical after some number of years, too?

Honestly, though, 24 (at my last company) was plenty. I've been doing fine on 18. But 15, especially split up, just sounds too tough.

Now to figure out how to say "I like you and your company, but call me back when you've figured out what you really want from this position, or have a different position. And more vacation time. And cubes with higher walls."
