Natural Instincts is decent for grey coverage, and fairly gentle. It is, as Cass says, a demi-perm.

I like that it doesn't pull much color when you use it. Because I am hell ass lazy about coloring my hair. So I am only really happy with prodcuts that won't leave me with noticeable roots.

It's knee length, Jilli. I know nothing of petticoats, but it is fitted at the waist and then flaired out. It was on the clearance rack, so there weren't many left.
