Even my lesbian friends always have to take pregnancy tests for those types of things even when they explain sex with women only thing.
Yep. Which is fine if I'm not paying for it, but if that means an extra however many dollars on my bill and I AM paying for it? Pisses me RIGHT the hell off.
Though I did hear tales of a study once, in my business (drug trial) that enrolled a NUN, but still made her take pregnancy tests...
Didn't get the house I applied for, so there's $100 gone.
They charged $100 nonrefundable APPLICATION??? That's utterly ridiculous. Where the hell are they getting their credit checks?? I mean, seriously--you should at least get SOME of that back.
Packing the boys' bags now for training camp at Suzi's!
Perfect timing, I leave for DC in a few days!!!!
Jilli! Have you seen this manga on Tokyo Pop, Bizenghast? I was skimming it at B&N and it looked very Jilliesque. Look!
How about Antique Gift Shop? Not quite as obviously goth, but has some Jilli-appeal, I think.

We'll see if they do your dishes while they stay there, or if they just eat all the food and leave stinky boy stuff around.

Yeppers! I have the first two volumes, and the odd little art book that was just released. Anitque Gift Shop looks cute; I'll have to check it out the next time I'm in a store with a manga section.

Dude. I've seen Agnes of God! Nuns can get knocked up!
Ooooh!
MUST
check out
Bizengast
next time I'm in Kinokunya Bookshop. Gorgeous art, and a sort-of-cat sort-of-called Daniel. I'm sold. They've got masses of manga in Kinokunya, but I tend to look at it uncertainly and then hurry over to look at the Western graphic novels. I have mixed feelings about Manga. Loved
From Eroika With Love,
but not so much loving
At Death's Door.
Mostly because it struck me as being, you know, not a very good Neil Gaiman impression, dialogue-wise. Beyond that, I don't know where to start, with Manga, and there's SO MUCH OF IT.
Fruits Basket
and
Prince of Tennis
are names I've heard bandied about...?
Fay, I think
Petshop of Horrors
would be right up your alley, and I'll always be quick to recommend
Bleach.
Gah. Finally heading to bed. Too much work.
Oh, ND, I hope you got some sleep!
I, on the other hand, didn't sleep a wink last night. Combo of sleeping weird hours lately (like 3am-noon), not wanting to oversleep because I have an 8am appointment, and insomnia fairies.
My appt. is the 3rd interview at a school. Great school, only part-time job. Oh, well. It's interview practice if nothing else.
