There is a HUGE industry for virtual assistants...with certifying bodies (not necessary at all) and everything! It's a great gig for well-organized people who want to shift out of the work a day world.
One can make a fine living making people very happy.
Have your friend do a google search on the International Virtual Assistant Association. The one I worked with lives in Canada!

If she sucks like a hoover you might have to seek legal council.

Depends on the part of Canada I think.
I'm virtually beside myself over this exciting employment news.
sj, all the best to your friend and her kid.
d, much health to your dad.
sj, prayers for your friend and her baby. 22 weeks is terribly early. I think you're doing all you can, right now. Once your friend gets home from the hospital, she'll probably need more practical support (rides to the hospital, meals, cleaning, etc.)
d, I meant to say earlier, tons of ~ma to your dad and all of you.

Thanks, Cindy. She's actually home now. She had the baby on the second, and was calling to apologize for not calling me on my birthday, the crazy girl. I'm kicking myself because I had an inkling something was wrong last week when she didn't call, and I feel I should have checked in on her. She doesn't seem to want anyone around right now, but I'm going to keep calling her to check up on her. I don't have children, but I can only imagine that this must be the worst feeling in the world for her.
