I am at the airport. The Evil Airport. American Airlines is experimenting with an odd check-in machine/name-calling baggage check system. I do not like it, Sam I Am. Took me much longer than usual. Anyway, now I'm in Chili's by my gate. I am very happy that they got me a little corner table where I can see everyone and be bothered by no one. My flight doesn't leave until 1:25, so I've got some time to kill. YAY book! (Sidenote: my blackberry is defaulting to ASSCAPS when I write YAY, which amuses me.)

She really does. Actually, she just has such vivid facial expressions in general. It's fun to capture them.

Good lord--I just had to call this recruiter that I'd applied for a job through, and who hadn't called me back when she said. Not that big a deal, and I'd already spoken with her...but I put it off and put it off, and when I finally called, my heart was thudding like I'd just run a mile. RIDIC! Must get over that if I'm to have phone interviews!

(Edit: the conversation was brief and v. normal, and she basically just said "you're OK with a background check and a drug test, and you'd have references if they need them, right? OK, I'll send it on and be in touch" No reason to panic!)

meara, I totally get that way at times when I have to make a call, and then I stutter and fall all over myself and wish the party hadn't picked up so I could leave a message.

I was a Triathlon Sherpa for my friend this past Sunday in Philadelphia. Got up at 4! to get her to the race site when the Transition Area opened. She finished her first triathlon in a little under 2 hours, which she was quite pleased with. She has another one coming up in Maryland next month, and I might try to sherpa again if I'm around. The next one has hills, so she expects to not finish in 2. I'm still hella impressed, as I don't think I want to train for one of those.

Still no official word on my dad, but one of the chiros I work with looked up cancers that metastasize in the cervical region and thinks it might be a bone marrow/blood cell type thing. Of which some really react well to treatment, so it's possibly not as bad as I fear. I am attempting to stay away from the info on the interbunny, although I did a mild peek this morning.

If there's still any ~ma around, I could use some focused on getting my passport renewed in a very timely fashion, just in case.

My flight is already delayed. Thank goodness for nonstop flights. Knowing I've got one flight and my bags will be flying with me is worth flying out of the Evil Airport.
