Wash: So, two days in a hospital? That's awful. Don't you just hate doctors? Simon: Hey. Wash: I mean, present company excluded. Jayne: Let's not be excluding people. That'd be rude.

Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

That tricorn is wonderful and I can totally see Jilli wearing it.

Thank you, Cindy. My love for you grows each day.

Suzi's district wants all my transcripts with my application

How much do I hate that? At least 75% of the districts around here want copies of transcripts with the application (official copies if hired). It sucks. But, I did not have to teach any sample lessons. That would just be nervewracking.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

I'm sure it's not a reflection on the district as a whole, but this is the most annoying application I've ever had to fill out! I don't know my references' addresses, and I'm not at all convinced YOU need to. I could really use more than an inch for the address of my last non-school employer, somehow the place where it asks for my last school position doesn't seem interested in the name of the school, and the lines where it asks about my credentials ask for "Major" and "Minor", terms I've never seen on my or any credential, and only have about a half-inch of space each anyway. I am so confused.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Oh, the earworm....

Does it make the earworm worse if you hear it in German?

Cindy, thank you so much for pretty-in-pink pictures! Better than the earworm.

What is even happening?

Mein Hut, der hat drei Ecken...

I got earwormed as soon as I read Jilli's post, before I even clicked on the link. As earworms go, I've had worse. Sorry for the sharing on that. I'm glad I got to give you all pink Ackles, too.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

And having Pretty-in-Pink flashbacks -- isn't that essentially what James Spader's character wore?

It's pretty Spaderiffic.

I've been going to the GOOD 80s place since I first saw those.

Ann, that's a ferret.

While trying to post

Happy Birthday, Sox!

the Internet went down at work. By the time it came back up, my work laptop was in the IT shop to fix problems that prevent remote connections. I have a loaner, but I'm being careful about Internet use with it. So I'm pretty dark for the next day or two.

Argh. I am, once again, on hold with Tivo tech support, listening to their horrible music, because, once again, they've sent me a Tivo that doesn't work. I am getting very sick of this.

I want to go see Harry Potter. All of my friends who want to see it already have plans. Feh. (Hmm. There's one person I haven't asked, but she's got her thesis defense next week, so she probably won't want to go until after that.)

OMG! iPhone rocks! Am totally enamored.

Tivo number 3 is officially dead. They're sending me Tivo number 4. And, for my trouble, they're upgrading me to a new 80-hour dual-tuner model, instead of the 40-hour single-tuner I've had.
