"Probably" is a don't-trust word.
Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Aimee, if he hasn't already specified the amount and sent you information on exactly what would be covered under that plan, asking for it may be a good way to delay giving him an answer.
And what Beej said.
If I give you a memo with a signature acknowledgement sheet that says "I have read and understood this memo" that means you read and understand it! Not just blindly sign something! It also means that you can't come back 2 months later and say "I didn't know there was a policy change" because you signed it!
does Paris Hilton work for you too?
Aimee, let me understand this -- they made an offer and said "the salary is X If you want health benefits, the salary is X-H" ? If so, I'd say that the company is looking a little shady.
It seems like they are trying to pass on the cost of doing business to their employees. Uncool. And likely to point to other corporate culture elements that could prove to be uncomfortable.
Yes, Vortex. That is exactly what they say.
I also have the felling from the rumors I'veheard about this guy in particular that he is, indeed, shady like a 75 year old oak tree.
apropos of nothing, here's a picture of me and my sister, cousins, and SOs... [link]
it's from this weekend.
Aimee, I say that this job isn't worth it. But...any port in a storm. Wait a few more days and hope that those others come through so that you can tell him to stick it.
Which they didn't exactly want to give me since I couldn't tell them the last date of my period. I explained - PCOS, irregluar periods -- but the nurse didn't sound so convinced. I offered to sign something and fax it to them, but she finally called it in.
askye, ARGH! I so feel your pain. Can't tell you how many times I had that conversation before I went back on the Pill to regulate myself somewhat. I finally resorted to filling the "Date of Last Period" line in with "Irrelevant."
They didn't think it was as funny as I did.

Heee! Everyone looks so cute and glowy and smiley, and TomW looks like someone's just lightly goosed him.
And YAYAYAY juliana, with M coming around! Everything you said yesterday sounded very promising.
That really sounds like a not-worth-it offer, Aims. And I know money, any money, is very much of the good right now, but man, do placeholder jobs suck. If you've got any kind of leeway at all while you wait on the really excellent companies, use it, because this place sounds shuddery.
TomW looks like someone's just lightly goosed him.
Hmm, looking at the picture, I'd have to go with my sister (in the green dress) as the theoretical most likely culprit. Heh.
Yes, Vortex. That is exactly what they say.
I have a bad feeling about this, Aimee. of course, I'm not in your situation, and I know that you need a job, but I don't think that this is a good company. If they're going to be this shady before you even get the job, what kind of crap are they going to pull when they've got you locked in?
