Beej, I'm hip. Although my mother wants me to date the hottie Cuban diagnostician.
Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
SA, breathe deep and count to 10.
10 just had a quiet word with me and told me to get out of dodge a day earlier than I was originally planning. I think I'm going to take its advice.
We went out to this restaurant on one of the local lakes, and I had a couple of cold beers with some fried shrimp, catfish, and oyesters. Earlier today I took the dog for a walk around the campus, which delighted us both. There are things I love about here-it's so beautiful, for one--but then I remember that there's no way in hell I could actually live here, and I get a little sad.
However, I have plenty to look forward to over the next few weeks. A lot of people to see, a lot of places to go. And only four more days with my parents.
vw, I will need to ask you about the hotel you stayed in, because I think Tom and I may need to bum around Portland for a weekend, because there's lots of beer that needs to be drunk there. Also, um, beautiful? Um.
Isn't it lovely? If you go back you must go to the restaurant that is the old car fairy. I can't remember what it's called. I'll ask.
Here's the hotel we stayed at. It has water views and was GORGEOUS. Also, fabulous breakfast. [link]

edited for some serious "dude, that name is spelled wrong" issues.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I see that, and raise you a ZOMG!!~
the hottie Cuban diagnostician.
Yow and Zuh! How gorgeous is he?! Your mom has good taste erika.
I know!(and he seemed nice, too) All of a sudden all of that Spanish I never get to use seems like a master plan. As does my avoidance of physicals. Mom is looking forward to telling the kids she works with in school, you know "Viva Cuba!" because they always want to explain stuff about their country and stuff like that. That thing with the firefighters? So. Damn. Touching. Sniff.
Anyone around? Am forlorn. Am also in urgent care for girly issue (white fonted: nasty yeast infection that needs diflucon before I kill myself). Did I mention forlorn?
I'm around for a few. Still here, Kristin?
And so sorry about the whitefont. I, too, would be forlorn, but fortunately we live in a modern age, with medicine! That's what I tell myself, anyway. Sometimes telling myself this works.
Steelcut oatmeal:
For the librarians and librarian-lovers, from the NYT: [link]
I especially like:
Jeff Buckley, a reference librarian at a law firm, who had a tattoo of the logo from the Federal Depository Library Program peeking out of his black T-shirt sleeve.
Now that sounds like a fun tattoo!
eta: I'm off to sleep. Hope everything went well, Kristin, and that you feel better soon!
