Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Mostly lurking...

I'm in Portland, Maine. We're leaving in a few minutes for Bar Harbor. Our hotel is lovely, and I don't want to leave, but the B&B looks lovely too, so hopefully it will be.

I want Allyson's book, though, and there are no Barnes and Nobles around.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I am taking the day off of work today. In the morning we have the inspection of our future house, which should be very interesting. Pray that the plumbing and wiring are okay. I love all the workings of a house, so I am looking forward to it. Geeks that we are, the DH and I are videotaping it. Will we watch it again? Yes, we will. Then in the afternoon, long-avoided dentist appointment, which I know will be bad news as I have had a toothache for a couple of weeks now--never a good sign. After that? Perhaps I shall reward myself with a trip to Target.

That is a great idea! I wish I had videotaped my home's inspection. I learned so much during it which I've mostly forgotten.

Well, we know buying now is a good idea, as interest rates are creeping up and house prices are lower than they have been--and my brother has money to invest. Even so, our mortgage payment is going to be about 2,600 per month. YIKES!!!!! It's going to require lots and lots of budgeting to make that monthly, but I know it will make a big difference at tax time, plus, you know HOUSE.

Oh yeah. Like my dad says, aside from having children, it's the best tax break the middle classes have.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Yay Robin!

I have today off as my boss called a comp day for the whole team. She also hosted a BBQ at her house for us during work hours yesterday. Yay for good bosses!

That's sweet! My boss is on vacation, and very worried I won't have enough to work on next week. I tried to refrain from telling her to hush, as she planned more projects for me. I'm fine with being bored for the week. But instead, things were PLANNED. Hmph.
