Sir? I think you have a problem with your brain being missing.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

~ma, ~ma, ~ma for SuziQ's mom.

So, Daniel and I are pondering signing up for Netflix. Anyone know how orderly they are about stuff in your queue? I mean, if I've got Seasons 5, 6, and 7 of Stargate: SG-1 in my queue, will they send them in a silly order that makes me wish I had only put one of those seasons at a time in the list so that I get them in the right order? Also, if you've got something that is a mult-dvd set in the queue, will they try to send it to you one dvd at a time or does it come in the whole set?

All is well that ends in pizza.

That last is the question that we especially need to know.

Posting from very dead workplace. Shhh.

If you add it as a set, they will send them in order. If you add each disc individually, they will send them as they are available.

For example, if disc 3 of the set if not there when you would expect them to send it, if you had the set added, they would send the next non-set movie. Otherwise they would send disc 4.

Art Crawl!!!

It will send you the multi-set stuff in order but one at a time. So if you have a six dvd set and can have 8 dvds out - you can get all six at once. But if you have 8 dvds out and return two and there is a six dvd set in the next six spots, it will send the next two.

Umm, you have to put the multi-set disks in your queue as a multi-disk set. (Which, when I signed up for netflix you couldn't do,but is very possible now.)

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Also on Netflix they will only send a movie after they have received one so (for instance) if you are on the three disc plan and you have three discs at home you really need to send one back by wednesday to be sure you'll get the next one by Saturday. (says the girl who often runs out of stuff to watch on weekends)

Thrive to spite them

The other thing you can do is set up different users on one account and you'll have separate queues. But you have to divide up your number of dvds allowed out between the two users.

For example, I have all movies and documentaries on one user name and all tv and anime on another, I get 4 movies out at a time and each gets 2 dvds out at a time. That way it's pretty evenly divided and I always get 2 tv dvds and 2 movies out at once.

The other thing is Netflix has Watch it Now, which only works on PCs using XP and IE 6 or higher. But you can watch as many hours as you fee is. So if you pay $14.99/mth you can watch 15 hours on Watch it Now. There's not a huge selection of current movies but there's lots of British tv shows (lots of Doctor Who) and older movies, things like that.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

It is gorgeous in the Bay Area. About 71 in SF with lots of sunshine and a breeze.

high 90s in this part of the bay area. I know this because it is 84 in the house. The nice thing is I know it will be much cooler tonight. and I'm sitting in front of the tv and my computer with a fan blowing on me and I have a cool beverage. And I feel better than I have all week.

When I am useing netflix - I alternate movie/tv/movie to make sure that if what I am looking isn't in - they don't send me a disk before I need it. but it sounds like I might not need to do that...

Thanks Andi. No word yet. I hate the waiting part of the process.

Always Anti-fascist!

It is one hundred seventeen F. here right now. I think that requires a different F than the one in Farhenheit, actually. And our local weatherman has, like, a heat fetish...the hotter it gets the more up he gets. I hate that guy, right now.
