Seriously. I mean I think it is very cool that she was able to calmly give the asshat a refund but I do wish she would have called me so I could have treated him the way he really deserved.

Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Belated punctuation to Erika. The Emmet & neighbour's dog story slew me. Hil - I got nothin. But I feel your pain. Argh.
Pizza and porn, eh? Huh. There's a sure fire way to get embarassing stains of one type or another in one's bunk.
Meanwhile, I have spent today moving classrooms. Or rather, an hour or so moving classrooms, followed by several hours of pushing things around, moving them around again, shoving boxes in spaces and generally trying to make it look like a classroom and fighting off the feeling that it needs to become the platonic ideal of classroomness possible in this particular space, because - no. Just no. It needs to be a classroom that can function today and tomorrow, and then after the summer holidays we can make it into The One True Classroom. Yes.
My kids, meanwhile, watched Labyrinth. They had a great day. (Although Ja, who is kneehigh to a grasshopper and has a brain the size of a small Caribbean island, apparently found it quite scary, and suspects he'll have nightmares. Bless. I have his sister Jean next year. She's the spitting image of Lilo from Lilo and Stitch. Spitting image. But much more reserved/uptight/Thai. Plus, I suspect her of being much more able than she has seemed to be thus far - because, holy cow, with Ja for a big brother I would totally be assuming I was crap. But I think she's sneakily quite bright too.)
Er.
....sorry, this wasn't actually supposed to be as totally me-tastic as it apparently is. Um. Sorry 'bout that.
Procrastinating, you say?
glances around at appallingly messy classroom. Sighs.
Yeah, 'kay. It's a fair cop.
eta Also, fie upon the pretzel-hurler. May someone throw something at him tomorrow. Hard. From a great height. And then may all the birds flying in his vicinity find themselves stricken with diaho...diar...diahorororo...well, you get the general idea.
I read the new posts without caffeine, so none of them sunk in, except Fay's because Fay's was the last.
So...um...I figured Fay was offering some political commentary on the Libby pardon because clearly, 'pretzel-hurler' was a euphemism for Bush, yeah?
Ooops. Now I get it. Sorry some customers are so rude, Laga. Sheesh. The poor cashier.
Suzi, that sounds fabulously fun!
Morning, Cindy! What are you guys up to today?
Timelies. I'm back at the Orlando airport killing an hour before my flight home boards.
Wow! Early flight, ND. How did the rest of the trip go?
Yes it is an early flight but it gets me home midafternoom so it is worth it. The work out here went very well. The folks at Nickelodeon told me they were thrilled with the work and I really enjoyed working with them. It looks like this is going to lead to a lot more work too. They have told me to tentatively hold time for two more trips in August and they started talking to me about work on the new hotels they are building. If that goes well that is probably ten years of work.
Morning, Cindy! What are you guys up to today?
Well, there's a big parade and fireworks here in town tonight, so we'll probably go there (the parade is in the late afternoon). We stayed home from Maine because my s-i-l was going to have a cookout/pool party, today. We talked to her yesterday morning and she said she'd call us later to let us know for sure. She never did. When Scott called her at 9:30 last night, she said she wasn't having it.
But I'm not bitter.
What are you up to today, vw?
but it gets me home midafternoom so it is worth it
Oh, that is nice. I'm glad it's been such a great trip. I really hope it brings more work. That would be so wonderful for you. You've worked so hard to get to this point.
But I'm not bitter.
Oh, that SUCKS. I'm so sorry. But, yay for fireworks and parade!
What are you up to today, vw?
I'm hosting a BBQ (I know, I know...I live in Boston now. I should call it a cookout, but, well, that just hasn't changed in my midwestern brain) and surprise baby shower for my brother and SIL. It should be MUCH fun. We're pretty sure that they have NO idea. They're going to walk into my apartment and see this PILE of presents that take up half my living room! I'm so excited and have been working furiously to get ready for it (and finish crochet projects to wrap!).
We may try to brave the Boston fireworks tonight if it doesn't rain. We weren't going to go to fireworks, but my brother is insisting on it (which probably means it's really important to his wife, because he doesn't usually push things this much). Then tomorrow we're taking my SIL to the quilt shop to pick out fabrics for the crib quilt/bumpers/etc., then we jump on a train to Portland, Maine for our summer vacation. I can't wait. I'm gonna sit around and pretend to do nothing for five whole days!
Yay, Suzi!! That sounds wonderful!
Cindy, that's just icky. Does she know you changed your plans for her?
vw, that sounds like a lovely day!
I'm spending the day doing homework and then going out for supper with some friends. Go homework!?
