I thought of you and told her, "My friend says it's a thing."
Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
This baby is lying about being a Klingon.
He is not. He is a human child. But when you say, "Hey Jack, who's a Klingon?" He scrunches up his forehead and roars.
(Also both he and his sister do the fake cough cuz it's funny thing. And fake sneezing. Hilarious!)
I'm just wondering -- what has everyone been talking about.
Frankly, Cindy, there's a ton of Supernatural S2 talk in the last 1800 posts... probably at least three or four w-n-p's, plus talk of the end of S2 (which would NOT be fun to to be spoiled for...)
We could probably make a list of people you can gleeble at, if gleebling is what you crave...
*raises hand*
I've been working nonstop since about 8am. I'm watching one more performance of the show then time for food.
Thanks, Ailleann. I realized it's finally July which means it's Eureka time. I just want to hop in, unless I don't.
They also give the USPS an F for phonely customer service. Bleah.
and every other kind, in my experience.
It's not just things that I am bored by, and it's not as simple as having to pull my attention back.
Right. With me, it's not exactly things that I'm bored by, but tasks requiring certain kinds of attention. Grading papers is a good example -- I've got to keep switching between scanning the paper to find the student's answer (relatively simple -- doesn't require much brain power), checking to see if the answer's right (again, just a yes/no, pretty simple), but then, if it's wrong, I've got to go back, decipher the student's handwriting, figure out whether it's an arithmatic error or something else, decide how many points partial credit it should get, etc. It's that sort of thing where I need to keep switching my focus, but need to stay on track -- each time my focus switches, there's only one right place for it to switch to -- that I have a lot of trouble with. I can sit down and grade a stack of multiple choice tests and I'll be bored, but it's one task, one set of rules, and I can do it. Grading homeworks is FAR more difficult.
Since I started on Lexapro, I've found my focus and attention span have improved greatly. I think the anxiety part of my illness was causing the worst of those symptoms.
ION, Sparky, have you already seen the gethuman.com website? Here's their listing for dodging perpetual hold at USPS: 800?275?8777, Press 5 at each prompt, ignoring messages.
Thanks, JZ. Unfortunately, I wasn't dealing with the 800# people (that was last week) but the local post office trying to track down the supervisors. I got a call from a fellow this afternoon, new to me, who told me it would never happen again. So, my second poll of the day is: Raise your hand if you think I'll get mail tomorrow. . .
Yeah, me neither. ::sigh::
The Jews for Jesus are back in force in DC. I walked by two of them on my way to the metro today. The first one held out a pamphlet, I shook my head and kept walking, she went on to the next person. The second one, I did the same thing, and he STEPPED INTO MY PATH and demanded, "Why NOT?" If I'd had an extra few minutes, I totally would have started arguing with that guy. I didn't have an extra few minutes, though, so I just gave him a Look and said, "Get out of my way," and he did.
