Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Because books.

I loved the video for "Rio." Also, very much so, "White Wedding." Oh! And "Goody Two Shoes"!

Oh again! I loved Van Halen's video for "Jump," but I think that might have been 90s, too. It was Sammy Hagar, not Dave ... I can't believe I'm blanking on his last name.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Doesn't Adam Ant get shirtless at some point in all his videos? I also love how most of them end with a still shot that was also available as a poster. I had the one from Prince Charming on my ceiling in my bedroom.

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

Jilli, stop laughing at me.

Jilli's away at the mo' but I'm laughing in her place.

I just watched a Mike Oldfield video that I only ever saw twice sometime in the mid 80's. For me, it's memorable for the fact that I thought the female singer was the best likeness for Judge Anderson (from the Judge Dredd comic) I'd ever seen. Looking again, I'd still have to say she's damn close.

Yes, my brain is always like this.

I caused Jilli to be quite flustered when I showed her my vinyl copy of the Prince Charming album with the gatefold pic.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

What's your favorite '80s video?

Neither. 'Pictures in the Dark'.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

Occasionally, I have some taste similarities to Dean Winchester.

Jilli, stop laughing at me.

Do the rest of us have to stop? Because, hee hee hee...

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Someone's never seen the video for "The Chauffeur"

Pfft. My Duran Duran obsession was LEGENDARY. Possibly someone NOT ME has never seen the video for "The Chauffeur," but I most certainly have. Doesn't mean it was my favorite, though.

And I just watched the videos for "Save a Prayer" and "New Moon on Monday." It seems I only remembered the last 2 minutes of "Save a Prayer." And I'm also agog that I ever believed Nick Rhodes was straight. (I WAS 12, SHUT UP.)

Well, I was *12* at the time. I thought it was all cutting-edge cool.

Hey! I WAS YOUNG TOO11!

Piotr, you were NEVER young.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I just watched the Madness vid. man, I had forgotten how damn funny that was.

Also cool is Blur's video for "Parklife" which pays beautiful homage to the "Our House" vid (in part - it's not a straight up parody or anything).

My favorite Madness video is Wings of a Dove. Sure it's a blatant rip-off of Bob Dylan, but I think it was the first blatant rip off of Bob Dylan.

You've got to be kidding. People have been blatantly ripping off Bob since 1965.
