Walking I get. But power walking? Why not just run for a shorter time?

Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I remember loving Duran Duran videos in the 80s, though I don't know if they'd hold up now.

Specifically, my favorite was "Save a Prayer," followed by "New Moon on Monday," "Union of the Snake," "Girls on Film," and "The Reflex."

Ooooh! I know what 80s video would probably still hold up today! The long form (~20 min, IIRC) video of Bowie's "Blue Jean"!

t edit OMG. juliana's post made me realize that I could see Duran Duran videos on YouTube!

There goes the rest of MY evening....

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Though I could probably make a case for a bunch of the hair bands.

I wil happily help you make that case.

Really, I found the long version of Blue Jean to be astonishingly taxing. Just boring until the damn song finally kicked in.

Juliana, Suggs has a radio program in the UK now. 2pm til 4pm on Virgin Radio.

Well, I was *12* at the time. I thought it was all cutting-edge cool.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

my favorite was "Save a Prayer," followed by "New Moon on Monday," "Union of the Snake," "Girls on Film," and "The Reflex."

Someone's never seen the video for "The Chauffeur"

Because books.

Didn't MTV take the video for "Girls on Film" out of rotation for a while because it was too racy or something?

Yes and then they put an edited version up in its place. They never aired the full-length one. It has nipples!

Have to share a bit of a conversation I'm having with L who is on a "getting rid of shit so I can fit it into an apartment."

L: Don't need that! Oh wedding book! Definately can go away!
Me: You may want it someday...
L: No, it's a how to.
Me: Well, you may get married again.
L: Well then I'll buy a better one! Obviously this one didn't work! I need one with a contegency plan!

It's good to hear her snarky and pissy instead of sad.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Easing into the hair bands category: Blaze Of Glory, by Jon Bon Jovi.

Yes, 1990, yes, solo, but Jon! Shirtless! In skin-tight leather pants! Earnestly cuddling his guitar! In the middle of some of the best scenery ever! LOVE.

I just watched the Madness vid. man, I had forgotten how damn funny that was.

Isn't it, though? They're so cute.
