Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Guess what started this week?

Royal Ascot.

Which means hats!

I was in London during Royal Ascot in 1999, which also happened to be the week that Prince Edward and Sophie got married. London was a sea of killer hats that week, I tell you what.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I wish hats were worn more often in the US. I'd wear a hat every day.

My sister went to a high tes that was a bridal shower and they all wore garden dresses and gloves and hats. It was so awesome.

ION, I just got to walk my boss' mom's dog. A great big golden retriever. So awesome those dogs are.

Art Crawl!!!

Aside from the horsehead component of the hat, I thought that these ladies (particularly the one on the right) looked particularly Edwardian.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I love those dresses! And they're not very expensive either.

The other day I had the notion that I would find a couple of really flattering dress patterns and just do a whole wardrobe of wrap and shirt dresses.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Morning All! (Well, if I can finish typing before two minutes are up...so actually) Afternoon All!

Thanks for all the Birthday Happies! I came back from a long (but good) day at the Fair, and they were just the right note to end the day on a smile.

I am very vexed to find that Kristin and ND spend so much time in SD, yet never call me up to meet for taquitos. Stoopid packed schedule & living in the 'burbs making me hard to get to (I have decided that these are the causes of said lapse - not that Nobody Loves Meee!) In case you missed it, that was a hint for next time, guys! ;)

Laura, tons of ~ma for Bob & DH, and some of the glittery, chocolate-laden variety for you. Make sure you're taking of yourself too, Lady.

I continue to curse the work blocking software that will not allow me to see cherubs or Hawt Gloomcookie or pretty dresses. Ah well, posts marked, something to look forward to for tonight.

Hey, wasn't yesterday tiggy's b-day too? I seem to remember us sharing. If so, Happy Only Just Barely Belated B-Day, tiggy!!!

edited 'til I could find a font color that looked pretty on this monitor.

Epic, when we're in San Diego, we're pretty much providing full-time care for Drew's mom and helping Drew's dad out as much as we can. We ate our taquitos yesterday as his mom was getting a haircut in the adjacent salon--she needs help getting in and out of the van, her wheelchair, and the salon chair. The only time we've left El Cajon other than that was to run one of Drew's computers to the Old Globe for the theatre, and we were only in Balboa Park for about twenty minutes as we dropped it off. One of us always has to be here with his mom so that his dad can take a few hours to actually get out of the house.

Of course we would like to see you, but unless something changes--and to be honest, it doesn't look like that is going to be happening--our San Diego time is not our own. And to tell the truth, neither of us is in the right mindset to visit with anyone when we're down here anyway.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Guys, I'm sorry you're stressed. It's hell, but really... Epic didn't do it.
