Fred, I'm sorry about Teddy.
Anne, I hope your stepdad recovers quickly. My cousin had his appendix rupture when he was in high school and he also had an issue with the infection. But they did get it cleared up--he just had a longer stay in the hospital than usual. Lots of vibes for you and your family.
Jilli, the hair is AWESOME! And you look completely adorable.
Sox, I've only toyed with the idea of knitting--buying training needles and attempting some basic stitches. I suck. But I'd still like to learn to knit enough to make this someday.
Cashmere - that is awesome! Hats are so much fun to knit - but THAT is going to be a blast. I say do!
I hated knitting until a brilliant person showed me continental stitch. now I can knit at community meetings. Which keeps me from yelling, mostly.
eta: no apostrophe needed.
I could use some luck~ma, communication~ma, and skill~ma. I'm about to call an agency that I think could provide some help to the family I've been helping. I really need them to be able to do this, so all the ~ma would be greatly appreciated.
Not Sox, but I really like the Sally Melville knitting books for beginners, [link]
, because I think she makes it easy to understand what the #@!$$ she's talking about.
I have no, zero, memories of being taught how to knit. My mother knits all the time - she never sits down that she doesn't pick up a project - so I just sort of absorbed things. I went back to the beginning books to put some context on what I knew and to give things a name.
We were checking the couch cushions. Can I buy you a condo with $0.32?
It *is* Michigan. So probably.
Totally unrelated, this is one of the other quilts from my shop: [link]
The Very Buffista Quilt Pink! quilt goes for sale later today. Don't bid on the above on! Save the money for mine! :)
I know it isn't yours, but that is a very pretty quilt vw. I wish I had extra fundage hanging around. (Though Aimee would probably tackle me for it to add to Sparky's $0.32.) Not that I'd mind being tackled by Aimee, but now we are off the point.
Yeah, it's gorgeous. And it's very artsy--some of the blocks were done by artists who had never quilted before. I saw it in person, and it's just lovely.
