Ah, that'd be it. I'm not sure she only teaches in med school, but she definitely teaches in med school.

Because Med School positions are more like real jobs in they also pay more like real jobs. Quite a bit more. Also, they have free lunches and less teaching and much nicer toys. It's a trade-off.

I don't know if Jamaican med schools translate, Rick. She's teaching undergraduates, for a start. I think she has a blend of students, but can't be sure. But she's always been in medical research (biochem), so she leans the med school way, and not "just plain" biology or chemistry.

I must confess my total dorkatude. I finished my interview early tonight so tried to call juliana to say I was going to head home and ended up talking with JZ. Oooops. I do know how to work my phone and read...and it was a pleasure speaking with a confused JZ. I'm a dork.

I hear you, beth. I was in San Simeon from Saturday through Monday, then got up this morning at 4:30 (!!) to fly up to San Jose on business. Too much travel! San Simeon was just lovely, though. We stayed at a fabulous place called Cambria Pines Lodge [link] that is nestled in the woods and is huge. We had a suite with a small kitchen, separate bedroom and den areas, 2 fireplaces, and three beds (1 regular bed in bedroom, a murphy bed in living area, and a fold out couch). It would be a fabulous place for an F2F...

The pizza I got is so delicious. I've eaten half and am completely full but it still tastes so good...
