Wash: So, two days in a hospital? That's awful. Don't you just hate doctors? Simon: Hey. Wash: I mean, present company excluded. Jayne: Let's not be excluding people. That'd be rude.

Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What is even happening?

Jess! Congrats. When come back, bring update.

connie, has your dh called his doctor? He wants to get on the anti-viral meds ASAP. They'll make a big difference as to how severe his case of Shingles is, and in recovery time, and post-Shingles pain. I can't actually over-emphasize how important this is.

vw, I hope your friend is feeling better, soon.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

newborn human is made of cute!

That's our consensus too! Though it wouldn't hurt to have more pictures, just to be sure.

IME, those first couple of mornings in the hospital were so sweet -- waking up (in a bed you didn't have to make, in a perfectly clean room you're not even a little bit responsible for) with that new little face beside you and breakfast waiting and nothing to do in the day ahead but rest your body and study that little face and get acquainted.

So ridiculously happy for you!

The wife of the family I ride to church with had a really bad fall yesterday.

All the ~ma she needs -- though it sounds like, with the going out and helping, you yourself are already part of the ~ma.

Last night was Matilda's first Major League game; it was a lovely evening all around, starting with riding BART to the stadium and having everyone on the train admire the A's hat Suzi got her. We met the father of a baby boy just one month younger than Matilda (sadly, the dad was there solo, but he talked and talked about his boy). When I told him her name, he lit up and said, "Did you name her after the book?" Then he said that he and his wife had named their son Atticus.

Matilda was an excellent little rally monkey all through the game -- I started cooing "rallymonkeyrallymonkeyrallymonkey" at her just as Jason Kendall came to bat in the third, at which point the A's were down 3-0 and playing like idiots. And Kendall hit beautifully for once in his life and the A's had a 6-run inning, then a single run in each of the following innings (at which point we left), and when I got to the car and found the radio station airing the game the announcer was just saying, "...And that makes it 11-3, A's!" Clearly Matilda needs season tickets; or, possibly, the A's need her to have season tickets.

Of course, then she woke up at 2 and sobbed for an hour and now she's fussing mightily, but nobody's perfect. And winning the game like that probably took a lot out of her.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Oh, man, JZ - we were at the game last night too! I coulda had some Matilda lovin. We were in the bleachers, right behind the Kendall sign. Twas a fun night. One of the drummers gave CJ his sticks when we left, saying HE was the rally monkey of the night.

eta - and JZ lovin, of course.

I'm sure she just misses being at the ballpark, as it's the natural environment of the rally monkeytilda.

And, because I'm a total Boy-likes-carrots cheeseball: here's the metal mobius strip he made for me.

Thrive to spite them

I'm getting ready to take a birthday nap.

I went and helped Mom clean up her garage, then we went to the nursery to get plants for Dad for Father's Day. And who was there? DAD! So we confirmed birthday dinner plans and then I bought him some pretty plants for his butterfly garden. And I got him a Gipsy King's cd.

Mom already gave me money for the gym, but she wanted to actually give me something so we went looking for a sports bra and struck out every place. The only ones that anyone had in my size were the all cotton kind that pull over. I might as well not even wear a bra for all the support they gave! I went to Lane Bryant but the store didn't have any.

Does any one know where I could get a good sports bra in a size 40C?

Now I'm going to nap and then I have to run to the library.
