Given my family history, I either want a birthing center with admitting privileges or a hospital. Drugs are a given. C-section is a high possiblity (shading in to probability as I age). Home birth is a no frickin' way, even though I am a Cancer.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration
Ideally, I would check into a hospital or nursing home of some sort the minute the stick turned blue and be monitored constantly, served nutritionally perfect meals, and led through exactly strenuous enough exercise for the folliowing 38 weeks. By then, the hospital would be home, so that's like a home birth...

Like Cash and the Empress, I pretty much made out with the Epidural Guy when he showed when I was in labor with Ben.
I almost missed getting anything with Sara (when I got to the hospital I was already in transition -- oops) but they did give me Nubain, which I can never remember how to spell, and it was sort of like giving birth during a really good high. Knew it hurt, didn't much care. Dozed off between contractions and even during pushing.
I wouldn't having some of that around regularly, come to think of it.
