Blarg - jury duty. Are you off now Hil?
Yep. I begged off with "I've got to start teaching on Thursday, and it's a graduate level course and there's no one else who can cover for me." Which is all true. (The judge asked if I had anything to show him that I wasn't making it up. I didn't, but he excused me anyway.)
I'm hoping our admin can do similar - "I'm covering for someone who is off on maternity and no one else is trained to fully cover my work".
I am kinda of upset that she only told me about this yesterday. I would have liked the opportunity to come up with an alternate plan without it being a rush job.
If I quit worrying, how else would I entertain myself?
Books, DVDs, sex, liquor, rock and roll and us?.
Ooof. Little League is done. Twins beat us 6-3 so the Mets are finished with the forced death match of playing through the losers bracket.
Emmett pitched well, though his friend Arlo took him deep. That's about all he gave up, though, and he went four innings.
So relieved. It was fun, but Emmett's got a tournament at Concord that goes from Sunday through Wednesday, followed by a tournament in Burlingame immediately after and then he's got all-star stuff all through July. So, his baseball is far from done.
Where's that littlest Alter? I know Jess had to go home for lack of bed space but I am ready to meet her kinder.
Hec - CJ's team is in second place - they have a playoff game on Thursday and then "finals" on Saturday. He is quite the excited kid. I adore his coaches this year. Every kid on the team has pitched at least twice. CJ loved getting that opportunity even though that is not where his skills are...he had a blast.

Rock on, CJ! (and his coaches) That's fun when you get a kid on the mound for the first time and they really enjoy it. I didn't have quite that many players pitching, but we did develop several this season.
Does CJ have any summer baseball plans? Emmett went a baseball clinic at Cal last winter and it really helped his catching.
No summer plans at the moment. How did you find the clinic? Wonder if they are doing it this year.
Dining room is rearranged and is now a crafty haven.
vw's a crafty wench.

Cal's baseball team runs the clinics and camps all the time. I'm sure you can look it through some UC website. Emmett took both the pitching and the catching clinic. But they do have full summer camps too.
