The hospital in Athens had a couple delivery rooms, surrounded by labor rooms. Before you got into a labor room, there was a triage sort of room where they asked me a bunch of questions in Greek while contractions kicked my ass, telling me to do the breathing exercises while answering the questions. @@. I think they have my father's name as "unnhghngh" and my husband's as "aaaiiiieeeehhhh!"

p.s. I watched the first three eps of The Wire today, while lying on the couch, and now, in my semi-depressed and pissy state, I'm cussing right and left. Very quietly, since I have no voice. The cats don't seem to mind, but I'm ever so slightly mortified.

Speaking of DED I may have killed my roommate's car too. Woo Hoo! Two cars in one day! When I asked if I could borrow it he said, "sure, but it's not running too good either. Just remember that the speedometer is broke and the tags are expired." I must have chugg-a-huff-ed my way past 20 cops on the way home and nobody followed me. (Granted, 15 of those were in one parking lot so probably busy but still.)

libkitty, a short course of steroids shouldn't be too bad for you. It's when they last 6 weeks that they start being a pain in the ass :). I did a 12-day course recently and just was hungry a lot.
