I was all alone in L&D when I got there after my water broke, and by the time I was pushing a day and a half later the unit was full and my doctor was sprinting back and forth between me and two other women.
Good times, good times.
And thanks for the updates, Laura, though I do hope Fone Bone gets a chance to be dogpiled with squeeing and a billion frantic/eager questionsquickly check in here.
I'm no Fone, but the latest from Jess's twitter:
No beds. Came home. More later.
Where are these updates coming from? Natter?
(I also stopped by to check in on Jess.)
I was stuck in the triage room too, only in my case it was because the midwife wasn't there and I guess the nurses thought I was a slightly hysterical first time mother. It was so tiny and hot. When I finally got to the L&D room, it was enormous! L&D likes carrots!
smonster, if you are around, I just discovered a picture of you holding Ellie at the hospital today. My mom had it on her computer and I'd never seen it. You can't see your face, but I can tell it's you!
No beds. Came home. More later.
Oh, that's
horrible.
What the hell stoopid hospital is this?

Stoopid is right. Damn, that sucks.

Stephanie, Jessica linked a twitter blog page that looks like can be updated from her phone, in her Apocalyse post... [link]
They sent her home? I am bewildered and thinking about being outraged but keeping it tamped down until I have the facts.

I'm assuming she hasn't hit active labor yet -- they can't send you home at that point. Still, she must be exhausted already, and having to trudge home ... Blah. As JZ said, stoopid hospital.
