Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired.

Yes, I have been checking Jessica's progress -

There might be a room soon- hopefully nobody will come in in active labor before we get it!

eta: I'm pacing here! Poor thing, there 6 hours and no room at the inn hospital.

not your mom's socks.

Conclusion: People are weird.

and some people may need anonymous smiting. people who are too aware of the power of words like 'bigot' used at random in an educational setting, but too unaware of the long-term impact a good teacher and/or lecture has on their lives, for instance.

What is even happening?

The Baby Alter wait-a-thon is so exciting. I just skipped and skimmed a gajillion posts. I feel like that's all I do here, these days.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I would say that I am Cindy, but since I've never even seen a picture of her, I can't with all confidence say that.

So, you know that great drama position I interviewed for? I don't think I got it. I haven't heard anything, so I suspect not.

On the good side, I have TWO interviews tomorrow for full-time drama positions. That makes me happy. Now someone just needs to hire me, dammit.

oh goodness, I meant to say, labor~ma for Jessica. Job~ma all around!

And, ambling about the internet, I found this little gem. Some nice pictures (Aimee, scroll down a bit).

Interview-ma to ChiKat!!

remind me how difficult it is to navigate the "you make bushels of money and I don't" waters when choosing hotels and activities.

Ugh--that's such a pain, I've been on both sides (OK, "bushels" is exaggerating, but some friends work at nonprofits!). But partly I think all you can do is remind someone, because otherwise they might not even be thinking about whether you meant "let's grab a $7 burrito" or "let's go get dinner at a place that's NICE". The problem comes when people are like "Oh, this place isn't that expensive" and then you get there and OK, one entree is $12, but the good ones are more, and then everyone wants appetizers or dessert or drinks and with tax and tip suddenly...

Our wings are not tired.

Another baby update:

Ok - two women have delivered, so they are hoping to have a room for us within the hour.

And I am leaving the office, so I am off watch now until I get home.
