Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

It's more an overall Dukes of Hazard obsession. I share it with smonster.

Yes, indeedy!

I was just watching the reunion on, um, CMT I think? And it was hysterical. Every time they got in a fight (which was many times) Bo's shirt ended up magically ripped open. EVERY. TIME. Take notes, Kripke (kidding). Plus, Daisy as a botanist! Planning a wedding to Enos with her kidnapper!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Daisy and Enos just did not ring true to me.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

ita, here's what I've found:

Withdrawal symptoms from Dilaudid can occur 4 to 5 hours after the last dose and continue for 7 to 10 days. The severity of withdrawal symptoms experienced is directly related to the amount of Dilaudid taken and the length of time over which it has been taken.

Do you need more info/more specific info?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What are the symptoms, Steph? Apparently I was on rather a lot Thursday morning, and Thursday was absolutely horrible. When I got in touch with my GP he told me to go ahead and take Percoset because it might help step me down from the dilaudid, but I'm a little wondrous that the ER would let me leave with that risk hanging over my head (they did mention suppressed breathing, but that was it).

move out and draw fire

Interrupting the disturbing DoH references to ask for smiting. Or arrows fired out of a speeding orange car, whichev.

New car: I got pre-approved from my credit union. I called them the day before going to buy the car to double-check the procedure. They said the dealer should fax them the purchase order and they would mail the dealer the check.

Bought car. Gave dealer fax number. Called credit union, told them to expect a fax.

Long story short, it's now two weeks later, there have been multiple calls and emails, and the dealer still doesn't have the check. I just called the credit union, and they said, "Oh, the loan expired yesterday. We left a message at your home number this morning." When I was at work.

I am beyond irate. I never get shirty with the person on the phone, but I am barely restraining myself from vulgarity.

Our wings are not tired

Daisy and Enos just did not ring true to me.

Well she almost married him in a reunion special but ended up not doing it at the last second since she was afraid it would turn out like her first marriage which ended in divorce.

What are the symptoms, Steph?

Dilaudid withdrawal symptoms can be severe and include: anxiety, insomnia, profuse sweating, muscle spasms, chills, shivering, restlessness, yawning, disturbed sleep, irritability, anxiety, weakness, twitching and spasms of muscles, restless legs, nausea, anorexia, vomiting, intestinal spasm, diarrhea, repetitive sneezing, hot and cold flashes, severe back, leg and abdominals pains and cramps. Frequently, an increase in body temperature, blood pressure, respiratory and heart rate may be present.

(I found the information here: [link] and verified it other places; this site is just easy to understand, without all the physico-chemical mumbo-jumbo.)

Our wings are not tired.

I've never seen the Dukes. DH is a big fan so I may have to remedy this some day.

Grrrr. I hope you find someone capable at the Credit Union, Raq.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Raq - crazy - wrong. It is time for someone to figure this out and fix it. Or they all get my ick.

Thanks, Steph! No, it doesn't look like I was undergoing withdrawal, so that's some relief. However, I'm thinking I don't want to take it any more. They got up to about 10mg that visit. My cohort refuses to let me take more than 6 from now on, but if that's not making the pain go away then I need to take something different.

I love this:

Check with your doctor before combining Dilaudid with the following:

  • Antiemetics such as Compazine and Phenergan
  • Antihistamines such as Benadryl
  • General anesthetics
  • Other central nervous system depressants such as Nembutal, Restoril
  • Other narcotic analgesics such as Demerol and Percocet
  • Phenothiazines such as Thorazine
  • Sedative/hypnotics such as Valium and Halcion
  • Tranquilizers such as Xanax
  • Tricyclic antidepressants such as Elavil and Tofranil

Four out of nine's not bad, right? And I run at least 50% on the side effects, but most of those translate to "knocked the fuck out." Yet somehow still chatty, and I really don't like that bit.
