I'm sorry, dad. You know I would never have tried to save River's life if I had known there was a dinner party at risk.

Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

not your mom's socks.

AmyLiz & d - ::waves. practice-tosses glitter. looks around for chocolate-dipped potato chips from the Reading Market.::

DC & Baltimore-'fistas, primarily, although no restrictions: When my friend Ben heard that we'd be moving, one of the first things he asked was "Can we have a buffy movie night before you go?" I'd floated the idea past him earlier and he'd liked it, but he thought we had oh-so-much time to spare (me too, actually). A couple caveats - he owns a restaurant on Thames Street in Fells Point called the Waterfront - and they have upstairs activities almost every evening, except Tuesday - which is, not coincidentally, half-price entree night. Would anyone be interested in a Tuesday evening of recreation? I tried to get Sundays, as that worked out so well with CCRG, but he's booked then. No admission or cover fee - just someone needed to bring the vids (Sparky?) - and sing-y voices, of course. Ben has lots of Donnie Darko and (unfortunately) Buckaroo Bonzai, and appreciates the Wheadon/Minnear mindset, but hasn't built up his library in that direction... yet. Think of it as a rescue mission.

Lisah - want to go to lunch and check out the Waterfront sometime?

These movers are the quickest I've had. An hour and a half to pack the truck and they're making quick work of unpacking too.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Is this the Czech side, Fred Pete? Czech names commonly end in -ek, like Dubcek and my name.

Sorry, but I just saw this because I didn't get the chance to catch up last night. Yes, it's the Czech side. ancestry.com traces the -ck spelling to a German form of a Czech nickname for "Peter," but doesn't have any origin for the -cek version.

It's odd. My ancestry is about 3/4 German, but the last name is Czech. And the Welsh side shows up in my paternal grandmother's maiden name, Williams.

The only problem so far is that our furniture is a tight squeeze, which we sort of figured.

Sox, that sounds neat, but when were you thinking? The next couple weeks? (Sadly, I'll be gone then...but I"ll be seeing buffistas on my way, all left-coasty!)

Absolutely!!!

And congrats on the house bid being accepted!! Hope things go as smoothly on this end.

Ben has lots of Donnie Darko and (unfortunately) Buckaroo Bonzai, and appreciates the Wheadon/Minnear mindset, but hasn't built up his library in that direction...

what's unfortunate about Buckaroo Bonzai?!

Screening night sounds fun. Usually I have practice on Tuesday nights but sometimes we take off so it's possible I could make it.
