Bring on So You Think You Can Dance

So much this. AI was great this season, but I'm so ready for the dancers, if only because the shows have much less bloat.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I saw an ad for the new season of Hell's Kitchen last night, but it's not showing up on Tivo. June 4, I think it said, so in theory it shoud already be there, right?

Undeniably true. By the time they make it to the LV auditions, everyone left is basically v.v. good, and it just comes down to whittling it down to amazing (at least in each dancer's particular specialty). I'm wondering whether they'll stick with the same partners this year. I liked it last year for the Benji/Donyelle, but overall I missed the variety of seeing the dancers with different partners each week that we got with S1.

On Shear Genius, I also had a WTF moment with Dr. Boogie's son. I kept wishing the photo were bigger or had better resolution so that I could see if the kid really looked like him or if maybe it was just his "play" son. Hmm . . . And that weave on his model looked a hot mess. Daisy turned it out, so I'm rooting for her in the finale, but I think Anthony's gonna take it all. The less said about Ben, the better. What he did to that poor black girl's hair was a crime.

the kid seemed to be white, so I'm assuming that he's adopted with Boogie's (male) partner. I had no idea that Daisy was a lesbian, though!

I'm assuming that he's adopted with Boogie's (male) partner.

But Boogie said repeatedly in some of the early episodes that he was not gay!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, man, the Indian version of Dancing with the Stars must be amazing.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ha. He said it again, emphatically, during the reunion show...in the middle of describing how he'd like to get Rene drunk and take him home. And it's just that he didn't mention the kid at all before, in all the talking he did.

Daisy had mentioned her girlfriend previously in passing. But it was the most casual lesbian girlfriend mention on a reality show ever.

Anyway, looking forward to the finale.

Ha. He said it again, emphatically, during the reunion show...

And, to be fair, I've known more than a couple of very effeminate, swishy straight men.

And it's just that he didn't mention the kid at all before, in all the talking he did.

Who knows what wound up on the cutting room floor. They almost certainly have ten to twelve hours of unused tape for every one hour they actually air.

However....

in the middle of describing how he'd like to get Rene drunk and take him home.

....Boogie may be in deep denial.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm just saying -- swishy is one thing, humping a dude is something else!

And Daisy's girlfriend was who she was on the phone with in that one episode.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

And, to be fair, I've known more than a couple of very effeminate, swishy straight men.

Did they also repeatedly hit on every other male in the room? 'Cause to me that's what makes me raise my eyebrows about Boogie. Methinks he doth protest too much.

Straight or gay, thank GOD he didn't make it to the finals. His attitude was really starting to chafe, and the man CANNOT DO HAIR. To be a good stylist, you have to know how to listen. Nobody should ever be that much happier about their styles than the client after every. single. cut.
