Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

OK. Jordin and I have about the same exact frame. And dresses like this white one? Don't work for either one of us. They make her look bigger than she is because they just hang.

I just want to tell Kelly that she should wear more cute dresses like that, and fewer low-slung pants with belly shirts.

Oh I hate those outfits in her last two videos.

And am I alone in finding the "bad singers" aspect of AI played out by the second week of tryouts, much less dragged back out in the finale?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

No, I'm glad to fast forward through the bad parts. And I agree with you about Jordin's dress, too -- I think I feel such pain when Kelly dresses her body badly because it's a lot like mine!

I think I'm dead of the cuteness of Blake and Doug E. Fresh.

I've never really gotten into American Idol before, but I've really liked watching these last few weeks! Maybe I'll try that again -- start watching toward the end.

I can't figure out what's going on here with Clive Davis... "See, you don't have win to succeed! But don't think you can actually do your own thing, Blake." Is that it??

I wandered off while Clive was babbling. Although I think I did catch a "Taylor and Katherine still might catch on like DAUGHTRY! Honest! They really could"-type statement, right? I found it amusing.

AI has taken padding to a freakin' art form.

He's never going to win a Grammy -- I'll be stunned if he ever records an album -- but I still think Sanjaya's got twice the performing chops as half the others in the top 12. Say what you will, I just have to watch things like him performing with Joe Perry.

right before he walked into the crowd, i said "please let them have that crying little girl in the audience" and they did!! ahahaha!! that just never gets old for me.

Totally. But there was also a lot about "professional songwriters" and the "American Idol album franchise."

At least there's a lot of performances! Although I should have wasted more time before starting to watch this -- I think I'm all caught up and will have to watch commercials from here on out.

Hee. I love that she was crying again. It was like an SNL skit, live.

ETA: I didn't watch last year. And yeah. I don't get the Taylor thing.

And this, folks, is why it's dangerous to channel surf.

The hell? Bette Middler?

I think this show is unfortunately continuing the misguided trend this season of focusing more on guests than the contestants. The S1 and S2 finales seemed to be more about the top 12.

I haven't watched another finale until now.

I love dirty Bette so much better than torch song Bette, but still. Bette! But somehow she was reminding me of Melinda around the (lack of) neck, or something.

Oh god, "She's Leaving Home" always SLAYS me, because I put it on a mix tape I made for my parents shortly before I left for college, and we all stood in the kitchen and cried and cried. Sniff.
