Jesse, it looked like she was doing really badly with the walking ... but I don't remember her being that bad before. Possibly she was just having a general melt-down and couldn't get herself together.

Well, now I'm trying to remember what runway they've done at all -- they had that costume-y show way at the beginning, right? And then is that it?
Shear Genius: Not a surprising ep, really. Other than that I liked Dr. Boogie's red carpet hair. I thought he was one of the few that really did look at the cut of the dress and try to work with it. I felt like a few of them were just really generic updos. But then, I am not an updo sort of girl, so possibly I shouldn't talk.
Less impressed with the day-to-night stuff. But then again, my idea of day-to-night is something I can pat down conservatively to wear to work and then spike out for concerts. Except, ha, I can now wear punk hair all the time if I want. Except during summer, with the fundraising and the parents.
Jesse, the second show, I think was the high-school runway thing, with three styles of prom dresses ... which Brittany won. So ... maybe her balance is out of whack from being south of the equator (I think I've been watching Lost too much).
Yeah, that's the one I was remembering -- but I did NOT remember Brittany won. Huh.
I think Brittany just doesn't think beyond the moment about what she needs to do (e.g., runway walk practice). She got to rely on taking great pictures, and she wasn't ever told to stand in front a mirror and practice looking fierce, so I suspect she went back to the house and didn't think about what she might have to do next.
I loved "Shear Genius." I dig the personalities on the show and I actually like the challenges. I'm not digging some of the results of the challenges, but the challenges generally seem well thought out.
Oh, I agree. I think that was mentioned upthread but the key seems to be that they are doing actual haircuts on actual people who have to live with them (well for a while at least) while Top Design just all seemed very hypothetical: let's pretend that this is a room in a top hotel - DESIGN!
Just caught up on Shear Genius - damn, Ben was lucky he didn't get cut. I thought his style was much worse than Evangelin's whackadoo updo. It didn't look like anything. Daisy's was very pretty, but Danna's was indeed the most Vanessa Williams looking with a face flattering front and a very complex and original and glam looking back.
Dr. Boogie apparently ain't all that if that's his forte. Actually I thought it was a good style. Tabitha's was blah. Anthony's was not as good as it could have been.
Shear Genius: Yeah, I think Ben's the next to go if he doesn't show something soon. That hair was atrocious. It would have looked better if he'd put it all in a ponytail. Or lit it on fire.
I didn't like the front of Danna's, but the back was gorgeous and definitely original. She did have a huge advantage from her model choice by being able to pick the one with hair vaguely like Vanessa's.
I found Tabatha's forgettable.
