"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

ITAT: I know, I'm always completely terrified the whole time I watch the show. In fact, I've stopped watching it right before bed, because then I can never get to sleep.

I'm waiting for the episode where they try to break into a total fangirl's house and she's all, Jon Douglas Rainey, you can climb in my bedroom window anyday!

But yeah, loving the new format, although it's so upsetting. The ones where he's in there while someone's in the house? Completely awful! Especially when they trap them in a room! I keep thinking, if it weren't JDR, it would be much, much worse than this.

It couldn't be anyone but him, 'cause everyone else would get smacked. But he just sidles up to them and oozes the charm, and they're all, thank you for breaking into my house.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Watching It Takes a Thief makes me want to cry. JDR is hot, though. Wasn't he actually a convicted felon? Crime sometimes pays, at least if you're photogenic.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

ITAT: Yeah, I think they both were. And it's fun, because Matt just gets all nervous about it, but you can tell that Jon totally still gets off on the successful break-in.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

ND just corrected me! Although he likes How It's Made, apparently the show with titles like "Paint" and "Pumps" and such is actually Modern Marvels. He told me this with haughty disdain a minute ago.

I watched It Takes A Thief once, and it was too upsetting watching people watch their houses get trashed. Does the show help put everything right?

Thrive to spite them

The show puts everything back and cleans and in cases of doors being broken they hire guards for the night. Then, of course, the show installs all the new security equipment and shows them how to use it.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

And I haven't seen it happen in a long while, but every once in a while, if there's something genuinely priceless, irreplaceable, they remove it beforehand and replace it with a replica item so it doesn't accidentally take damage during the heist.

Our wings are not tired

Kristin doesn't understand my love for Modern Marvels and just how deep it goes. They have actually had episodes on Grass and Paint. The Paint on had a whole section on paint drying and I was glued to the TV (They do also have an episode on Glue) for the whole thing. She just laughs that I watch a show about paint drying.

I also enjoy Dirty Jobs and How It's Made. I have those shows set up to auto transfer from the Tivo to my computer so that I can watch them while I work. I think I'll put one on now.

I remember that episode! And anytime there's a show about really big steam shovels and construction equipment, I was there. Damn, I miss cable. I long for Mike Rowe and Dirty Jobs.

Our wings are not tired

I just watched one recently about Pumps and it was really amazing. The whole history of pumps and pumping.

I had a couple of How It's Made episodes on my computer so I'm now watching all about Cement and Caskets.
