Experimental TV: Cable Drama

This thread is an experiment to discern the Buffistas' interests in television discussion. It will be closed on June 1st, 2007, after which our community will engage in creative discourse about the future direction of our boards. This is the thread for cable aired drama. All discussion must be in whitefont, with the name of the show upfront, for 24 hours after the show airs, presumably in the US. No future spoilers in thread (take those to the spoiler thread for serious ones or spoilers light for casting type info).

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oh yeah. Forgot I had the latest episode lurking on my TiVo! Very much looking forward to it.

Dahlia's accusation to Dale's mother last week really got to me, and dramatically it felt so right, much more satisfying (and realistic) in its way than if she'd just shot Dale.

(Given the trouble he's bound to cause in the future, she might rue not doing it anyway.)

That reminds me.... If anyone still has last week's ep on their Tivo (or just a really good memory) you may be able to help me confirm something:

That pistol of Hugh's, the one Wayne stole from the safe and the one Dahlia eventually points at Dale? When she fires it, did she fire a total of six times, or five?

Because I'm pretty sure she fired five times, and I'm pretty sure she emptied the gun.

I've been eyeing that revolver since it first appeared in Hugh's hands. I'm pretty sure that pistol is a Charter Arms Bulldog .44 Special. They don't make the Bulldog any more, because Charter Arms doesn't exist any more, so it's something of a collector's item.

I recognize it because I've held one. And the reason I think she emptied the gun is because the .44 round is so big, the Bulldog's cylinder only holds five.

Anyway, if anyone can ever help me confirm the number of shots Dahlia fired at Dale (or if anyone can pause it and get a good look at when Wayne showed Hugh the empty cylinder after the psyche out), I'd really appreciate it.

Just watched last night's Riches, and laughed my ass off. CLANCY! The whole episode was a nice, light-hearted pick-me-up after the darkness, sadness and tension of the previous episode.

And Daisy was right, Sam got a little more play this episode. Loved it.

Article about TNT and TBS's summer schedule: The Close in mid-June!

And that show that Morena Baccarin is in - you know, the one starring Treat Williams as a doctor.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

The Riches: I've been thinking about it, and shouldn't they go after the purported wealth of Actual!Doug? A) He must have some folding money in an account somewhere, right? B) Wasn't there a throwaway line about some vast amount of money he had hidden away, even from the ex-wife?

I bet, if invested properly, they could live very comfortably off what he's got secreted away somewhere.

I also wonder about the car. Seems like they would need to report that totaled or stolen or something so that it didn't ring any bells. Otherwise at some point it's going to need its registration renewed, and it is currently underwater. Are they in a state that requires vehicle inspection?

I know, I'm niggling at details when in fact they have Stolen Someone's Lives and there are probably bigger problems.

I think that actual Doug had funds in an offshore account. I can't remember where.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Louisiana does require that you inspect your car, but it's not like if you don't, they're going to come looking for you. If a car's on the road with an expired inspections sticker, you'd get pulled over. They're not keeping track or anything though.

I'd think the difficulty in getting actual Doug's money would be that you might have to deal with people who really knew actual Doug, upping your chances of getting caught.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh, Waking the Dead, how I've missed you. And your pretty random boy advocating torture that is making my head spin. But for reasons other than my shallow appreciation of the unknown hottie.

Art Crawl!!!

I keep seeing promos for "The Innocent" which looks alot like that Justice show that Kyle MacLachlan was on. But it also looks like it has Jemima Rooper (Thelma from Hex) in it. Does anyone know anything about this show?

Well, she doesn't seem to be in the cast but I could swear I saw her in the promo. Perhaps she's guesting? Also - I note that the familiar looking guy in charge is the Cousin Oliver of Monarch of the Glen.
