You got fired, and you still hang around here like a big loser. Why can't he?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I don't think they ever focused solely on the football. But yeah, there were rumors that they were going to have less of it because they thought that's what was making people not watch. Also that they were going to move it to Fridays. Which, while it matches the name of the show, is exceedingly stupid.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I don't think they ever focused solely on the football.

Maybe not, but a friend of mine noted that the show improved for her after episode six, after five episodes of "Will they win the game???" It struck me that episode six was also when I started to like it more. It was the first time The Game wasn't hanging over the entire episode, and as the season went on, we often just got snippets of games; they weren't the climactic parts of the episodes.

But, honestly, I imagine they're right about the football being what's making people not watch. It's at least one major factor. Hell, it was one for me.

Also that they were going to move it to Fridays.

The CW could pick it up! Friday Night Lights / Friday Night Smackdown! Brilliant!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I think maybe it faded more into the background for you. Right after ep 6 was the homecoming game, the game with the racist players, the mud bowl, and of course State. And, it's not just the at the game stuff I would miss. I'd miss the attitude and crap these boys can throw at each other during practice, boys figuring out how to be leaders, girls figuring out how to be strong women in a culture (specifically football obsessed culture) that values them only as adornments to men.

For me if you pull out the football threads, it falls apart into another teen drama, even if it's still a more realistic one.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugly Betty: I love how Marc is one of my favorite characters now.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

FNL: Additional squeee!

I am so freaking happy about this show. Totally agreeing with Daisy. It has to have the football. Everything is in the cultural context of football.

And it really really needs to not be on Fridays. Because I have football to watch on Fridays.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

GA: What an asshat. I get the overwhelming loss of control that comes with extreme grief. Especially when it's completely out of the blue.

But what an asshat.

What is even happening?

Thanks, P-C.

I would have watched it from the beginning if had been on Fridays, because that's how my brain works.

GA: Ok, was that Burke looking very interested in Callie???

Also, totally called Ava remembering every damn thing a couple of weeks ago.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

ER: I'm totally confused about how and why the ER is open again. Or, really, why it was closed to begin with.
