A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I actually wondered about this:

I've also heard some other potentially good news lately regarding our beloved series. It turns out that, due to the looming writers strike and how it could put a halt to new television for a while, there are reports that NBC may consider airing old episodes of Battlestar Galactica... on NBC!

From TV Squad.

That news originally came from SyfyPortal.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Jon just played Birdhouse In Your Soul on the radio.

Hee. First time I'd ever played TMBGs, too. I've always thought they were a little too clever for their own good. I'll go sit in my curmudgeonly corner now...

From Sumi's link:

And it's a different world in television than it was in 1988 when writers struck for 22 weeks, causing many shows to bring down their tents midway through the season. Even "Star Trek: The Next Generation" tried to get around it all by digging up old scripts from "Star Trek: Phase II," but most shows don't have those kinds of luxuries.

Did they actually use those old scripts? Which stories were reworkings of Phase II?

What is Star Trek: Phase II?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Which stories were reworkings of Phase II?

The first episode of Season 2, The Child, was a Phase II script used specifically because of the writers' strike. Other scripts may have been repurposed at other times. And of course, ST: TMP was based on one of the scripts, also.

It would be very cool if, for example, NBC ran Eureka or Dresden Files.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

They need to be careful though. Airing Painkiller Jane on network TV is not the way to go if you want to slow down the hemorrhaging of viewers.

On the other hand, the American Library Association might regard doing so as a public service.

not your mom's socks.

As a rule, I am not a fan of the twee, yet it works for me on PD because underneath all the shiny candy-coated exterior, this show is freakin' DARK

this.

Someone really needs to get on setting up a Jilli-watches-PD-cam so we can have a watch and post of her watch and post.

so this.

I just wish they'd bring back the super intense colors.
and very much this.
