Art Crawl!!!

Whoa! From from the Trib:

If you're on pins and needles waiting for the Nov. 24 debut of the Sci Fi Channel movie "Battlestar Galactica: Razor," help is at hand. You may only have to wait until Nov. 12.

There will be free screenings of the film in movie theaters in eight cities on Nov. 12: Los Angeles, New York/New Jersey, San Francisco, Dallas, Boston, Philadelphia, Seattle and, yes, Chicago. The screenings will take place at multiple locations in each city, but all of the screenings will be on the evening of Nov. 12.

The Chicago-area screenings are at the AMC River East 21 in Chicago, the Century 16 Deer Park in Deer Park and the Century Evanston 18 in Evanston.

Damn. Want to see. Have no transport.

ETA: Spoilery stuff in the article.

There is considerable overlap between the intelligence of the smartest bears and the dumbest tourists.

Pushing Daisies is clearly going to be this season's show where I do not get the overwhelming love. I tivo'd the repeat of the pilot after people said such good things about it, and I only got 15 minutes in before the twee narration pushed me beyond endurance. There looked like there might be a decent show underneath if only the guy would Shut The Fuck Up (I liked the detective), but life is too short to listen to that shit.

A lot of us feel like it goes into twee, through twee and out the other side.....

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

tavella,

I totally see where you are coming from. For some reason, I'm really into the twee 90% of the time. I think you would have died with the musical sequence, "Hopelessly Devoted to you." I sprained my eyeballs rolling them during those few minutes, but by and large, I really dig the show.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I don't think twee bothers me. What else is twee?
