"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Holy carp, that Pushing Daisies comic is both hilarious and really seriously gross. I hope they go there a little with the show - that was awsome!

"Would you mind not farting while I'm saving the world?" - Doctor Who

Minor tangent...anyone know why CFerg's other podcasts for S2 have not been posted on either iTunes of SF? I'm feeling the need for a Eureka S2 marathon and would love to have more insight into some of the choices made.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

So I finally finished the Eureka finale, although like others, my Tivo cut off the last several minutes--thanks for the data on that, folks.

Um...

I'm kind of displeased. Did we really just go through all of that because the characters wouldn't talk to one another?

Also, wtf is it with Allison punching out Beverly, when there were some perfectly useful chairs available?

I'm relieved that Henry was not the Evil Mastermind he was pretending to be--and yet I'm still unhappy about this, because he's my favorite character and he's certainly smart enough to talk to Allison and Stark and explain what was going on with Kevin and the Acacian Field (or whatever). Even if they are "freezing him out" (WTF? Is this high school?)

In sum, the plot made no sense. And Allison ... well, the less said about her the better: she was unbelievably passive for someone whose child was about to be taken from her. It was nice to see Matt Frewer again, though, and the Princess Bride quotes were cute. Larry loses points by not checking the "land war in Asia" line, though.

I dunno, man. Last year's finale was so good, and this... eh. Certainly we got a cliffhanger, but the character content seemed kind of knocked together and inconsistent to me. Of course, this may be a result of me watching the episode in pieces over the course of a couple of days...

(And no, I still haven't seen BW or PD yet! Or last night's SGA!)

Yes, yes we did.

Not that I can bring myself to watch the finale again, but I don't think it will get better for you with a proper straight-through viewing.

I'm gonna go have a marathon viewing of Solaris, The Fountain, Contact and Frequency to make myself feel better about this season. And if that fails, maybe Jim and Jack will lend a hand. (No, Eureka hasn't driven me to alcoholism, this is a pre-existing condition).

SUNSHINE will be out soon too, I'm sure.

never got to see that in the theatre, but it's saved on my queue.

Am I the only one who saw these themes, if only from the corner of my eye, and was hoping for some further exploration? Not that it's the only reason I feel let down by where the story ended up at the close of the season (assassination of pretty much ALL the characters is the other biggie). Science, discovery, religion, faith, death and rebirth, loss and grief, alternate dimensions & time travel, dreams & desires, the freaking AKASHIC THEORY which is the THEORY OF EVERYTHING and should have been full of AWESOME EXISTENTIAL goodness.

I am looking pointedly at the writers in my mind's eye (which is twitching) and expecting hoping that the they are holding onto all that potential for the third season (and remember that Eureka used to be made of quirk).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Did I miss the SGA talk? I wish I hadn't been spoiled for the loss of Weir, but that was pretty impossible. Somehow it still feels like there are still no stakes.

The Eureka finale made dramatically little sense to me.

I understand it could have made less.

Oh ugh. I've gathered from comments that there is some dispute betwixt actors and the writing staff on things. I do hope Henry is back next season (this despite not getting to actually see him carted off due to DVR issues).

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I decided after the season opener to give up on SGA. Too much nonsensical action and silly panic and repetitive danger and barely any character moments or fun and I'm sick of Shep getting pissy with McKay for darned good reasons and McKay snivelling his apologies but not really meaning it and Shep forgiving him. It's gone past "so redunkulous it's fun" to just irritating and boring.

I understand it could have made less.

oh sweet fluffy lord.
