Right, there comes a point where you have to either move on, or just buy yourself a Klingon costume and go with it.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I think if Martha had stayed, it would have stretched the bounds of realism, insofar as DW stays within those bounds fairly well character-wise. Not that I don't want her back, cuz Martha rocked, and I adored her pining, and I adored the Doctor's pining...

(too tired to really fix run-on sentences)

...and I'm remembering that the Ninth Doctor was ?on? the Titanic, or had something to do with it, and that's from the first ep "Rose". He saved a family by preventing them from getting on board, but I don't remember if he got on board himself. Either there will be much handwaving, or the Doctor had two run-ins with the Titanic.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

My friend Nancy is a writer on Blood Ties. I haven't heard anything about whether she thinks that it's any good yet.

I really liked it - I've only seen 'Season 1', mind, but it's one of the better genre shows out there, imho.

Although...I do wish they'd given more of a concrete sense of place. One of the things I particularly enjoyed about the books was the fact that Huff really rooted them in their particular locations (generally Toronto); the show, otoh, seems to be rather chary of saying 'Why yes, this is Toronto, and we are Canadian. Ask us how!'

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Wow, I'd heard about the Face of Bo spoiler, but I never in a million years thought it would be a throw-away joke. Coooool!

Love Martha; know why she had to leave; hope she's back.

Of course, I'm still hoping they'll work a loophole to get Rose back. But I'd take Martha over Rose anyday, personally (I just think getting Rose back in some form would be a good angst producer - much like the return of Oz on BUFFY).

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Anyone who caught the BSG preview during Flash Gordon, when during the hour did it air?

All is well that ends in pizza.

t Hums

Oh I could throw you in the lake
Or feed you poisoned birthday cake
I wont deny I'm gonna miss you when you're gone
Oh I could bury you alive
But you might crawl out with a knife
And kill me when I'm sleeping
That's why

I can't decide
Whether you should live or die
Oh, you'll probably go to heaven
Please don't hang your head and cry
No wonder why
My heart feels dead inside
It's cold and hard and petrified
Lock the doors and close the blinds
We're going for a ride

Art Crawl!!!

It aired about half past the hour.

And yes, that was the first flashback. My goodness that looked like a six with Bill. . .but it wasn't. . . was it?

I loved the idea of everyone on earth thinking "The Doctor" but I didn't really like the glowy floaty Doctor very much. Although I loved the very aged shrunken Doctor.

Hee. Jack is the Face of Boe. So funny.

Also, red-shirt Tom was very pretty.

Also, red-shirt Tom was very pretty.

was there a scene where Martha looks him up at the end? Did I imagine that, or was that cut from this U.S. version? I might have stepped out of the room and missed it. Or maybe that's a memory based on a what-if conversation?

Art Crawl!!!

It wasn't in the US version.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Oh, phooey. But I'm glad it wasn't another symptom of my insanity.

I wonder what else was cut?
