I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Heh -- I was just thinking that I should dip my toe in the Supernatural thread tonight to see the reaction!

Also, I felt that I should mention here that Pushing Daisies is streaming over at the ABC website, so if you want to go give it five minutes and see what we're raving about, it's very conveniently available!

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

no problem, Colin. i figured as much.

Theo, are you already a SPN watcher or are you just thinking about drinking the kool-aid?

Oh, I've been drinking the Kool-aid from the beginning, but incest-fics squick me in the un-fun way, so I'm not wholeheartedly into it (not that you have to be, but it does keep me from getting way deep into it).

But I was already into Jensen Ackles back when I started watching Dark Angel season two and making sad little noises wishing other people would recognize his utter hotness, to just about no avail. I am pretty much the fandom anti-pusher.

About PD: So....

Who has been dying for all the resurrected pie fruit? Huh? Huh? I ask you.

Oh goodness, how much do I love Pushing Daisies? I can see where the extreme quirkiness and whimsy would be off-putting to people, but since I seem to be powered by quirk and whimsy, this is very much My Sort of Show.

I can't help but wonder if they told the music composer, "Okay, give us your best Danny Elfman impersonation", because it was eerily similar to his style.

Other fruit?

Hee. So that's why my grocery store can't carry fresh fruit to save its reputation! I'd always wondered. Now I can just blame Lee Pace.

Okay, I went back in the thread to read some of the PD comments, and just saw

Anybody else think PD is a show Jilli just must see ASAP?

Hee! You people know me really, really well.

PD hits all my buttons that the movie Big Fish did, but without causing me to be a sobbing mess. (I love BF beyond all reason, but makes me cry every time. The dad in BF is VERY much like my dad.)

Anyway, magical realism = good in JilliLand. Partially because I think stories work or flow better if they've got a touch of strangeness about them, partially because, in JilliLand, Real Life is loaded with magical realism.

I especially liked the super-saturated colors and very mannered art direction; it was a nice visual cue for the sort of story PD is.

I just sat and watched the first 15 minutes from the streaming ABC site, just to see if it would run on my new computer for a minute. Damn you, all-too-attractive show!
