Princess Bride! Season 1 Taggart shines again!
Stark, you, uh, hot there with that shirt unbuttoned way down all sexy-like? Trying to put the moves on Carter? C'mon, you know you love him. (This has essentially been my running commentary for all the wonderful, wonderful Stark/Carter scenes).
Oh, wouldn't it be awful if they needed to take their clothes off to keep from overheating?
OMG, totally awful!
I breathed a huge sigh of relief when Stark's character and Character were saved from this huge ginormous pile of poo mess
Beverly's so going to bite it.
Piss-poor reasoning and planning, Henry.
Um, how about it be Allison's call? Since she's his MOTHER? Just a thought.
Doncha think Henry would have made a better case if he hadn't brought Beverly along with him? None of this would be happening if Henry hadn't gotten a sulk on with the "I tried to help but you froze me out". More like "you froze me out so I froze
you
out."
These past two eps have reached SGA levels of overcomplicatedness with the danger!Danger!DANGER! when in the end, none of it serves the story or characters. It's a disservice.
So, is Beverly alive or dead?
Doncha think Henry would have made a better case if he hadn't brought Beverly along with him?
Was there any reason FOR Henry to bring Bev along?
Alive, of course. No body.
I'm glad the show will be coming back for another season. (I hope they fix some of the gender issues.)
Was there any reason FOR Henry to bring Bev along?
Yeah, actually my husband asked what Henry's whole plan was, and I couldn't really answer that.
So, in the end, Jo and Zoe wanna get back to partying? The hell? In the end, Allison and Stark let Henry take the full brunt of the responsibility (as in, ALL the responsibility)?! The hell?
You know, the season began with the tie-in the finale with "You just have to have a little faith", and then they bring in this Akashic theory, this theory of everything, this meta-science that incorporates all, science, theology. And this is how they utilize it? It would have seemed almost more appropriate to end the season with that big-bang episode (where, unfortunately, we first meet Zane, but still, there was promise in the premise).
And, oh, Taggart, how they use and abuse you. But you got a funny in that was truly funny.
I appreciate that Zane's fate with Jo is not safe, as seen by her interaction (finally!) with "Tag" and with that brilliant hug and smile with Fargo. I'm somewhat (belatedly) comforted that the writers realize that Zane may be next year's compost.
All in all, I've enjoyed all the Carter/Stark interactions. They have the best damned chemistry out of all the characters (with or without slash, ymmv, both work). I just feel bad that Stark's character had to undergo the ambiguous evil shoe-horning. I'll have to rewatch to see if 20/20 hindsight makes it gel.
I'm sad. Sad that I was a proponent for darker, and that I got darker, but at the loss of the quirk. I'm also sad that I'm relieved that this season is over. I'll try to be optimistic for next season...
