My brother tried to call me earlier this evening. I called him back and he said it had been to tell me he saw Michael Rosenbaum at the library. He had to get off the phone to go play an RPG with his friends.

man that was a great episode but it sucks muchly that I have not seen season three.
I wish now that I hadn't been spoiled for the Master's return, because if I'd seen Derek Jacobi with that identical pocketwatch without prior knowledge I'd have assumed that he was a future incarnation of the Doctor. The reveal would have been much more shocking and fun.
Why would the TARDIS reject Jack when it and Rose made him what he is in the first place?

The Doctor did seem to be flirting a bit with Jack later on, even if it was through safety glass. Though I wouldn't mind a return to their Season 1 (27?) closeness.
Jon, I remember Kevin's link like you do. I think Stark's interest in his wellbeing was evident before that, and is sincere.

My own theory is that the TARDIS provided the power, Rose absorbed it and used it. Basically control was in Rose's hands. Maybe the TARDIS just didn't much like what Rose had done with the power in that specific instant.

I was really hoping Derek would be a new character and stick around for awhile.
Me too -- he's such a good actor! I suppose it was fun all around to get somebody of his caliber to guest-star.
He did do the voice of the Master for those animated web adventures with Richard E. Grant as the Doctor. But I agree, it would have been nice to have a few episodes with Jacobi in the role before making him regenerate.
Also, between this and Underworld Evolution I am kind of surprised to find that Jacobi pushes back the frontier of actors I find hot by nearly two decades. I can't think of anyone else my dad's age that I think that of.
