I'm not crazy about Jo/Zane as a 'ship (and I am rather disappointed that Jo isn't ignoring his attentions), but I rather liked the "I didn't like that". It felt to me an honest and somewhat modest statement of feeling rather than overboard domineering jealousy. I thought Zane was merely putting out there that he likes Jo enough to not want to watch her sucking face with some other guy. We already know he's a self-centered, arrogant, unthinking jerk - this just doesn't seem like an arrogant, unthinking expression. Of course, at the moment I can see the same lines coming out of Colin's mouth, and being utterly controlling in a very sinister fashion, as he gets his evil on the way ita promises he can. It goes almost without saying that he wouldn't be in character as Sheriff Tightpants Grabass Carter.

And that does make me hate him. Along with the whole "your job isn't really important or challenging" thing. She's a forkin cop in a town full of dangerously crazy people.

See, yeah, Zane is arrogant and unthinking, and so self-centered, I can see how he has not bothered to process Jo's value to the community, and the fact that she is extremely good at a job that few people can do, one that takes not only native talent and intelligence, but dedicated learning as well. Zane is anti-social enough that he has no clue what it takes for society to work. But I would believe that he is capable of being honest enough to express how he feels - as he did - and mean that not to be an obligation for Jo to conform her behavior to his wishes, but for Jo to express herself honestly in return. I think that if she had come back with an "I'm sorry that hurt you, that is what I really want, so if we can't just be friends, let's at least be civil," he could have been ok with that.

I dunno. Maybe I'm talking out my hat. I think what I like least about the Jo/Zane thing is that I hate seeing competant women end up in relationships where they have to be the mommy for some immature jerk. We get enough of that in sit-coms, why do we have to have it on Sci-Fi?

I like Stark less and less. I didn't appreciate the way that he manipulated Allison into giving him what he wanted by using Kevin. While I'm not saying that he doesn't care about Kevin, it's clear to me that his motivation is to work on the artifact, and this is the only way he can do it. He preyed on Allison's fears so that she would let him do it. Henry trusted him and he betrayed Henry. I hope that this prompts Henry to go to Jack, and they will find the answer. I'm also annoyed with Allison for falling for this stupid shit.

Or it could prompt Henry to go to the DoD to narc on Stark and Allison. Allison gets busted back to liaison. Stark gets fired for real. Henry has a shot at the top spot at GD and gets another shot at bringing Kim back. It would be OIAL all over again.

I wish Henry had been able to take the Beverly angle to Jack - has Jack not proved sufficient to Henry's satisfaction that getting to the bottom of hinkiness (whether intentional or not) is the thing he does better than anyone in Eureka? Ok, yeah, I know, Henry can't call Jack in on this because Jack will stop him from getting Kim back. And part of me thinks that the genuine caring and friendship from Jack might help Henry let go of his unhealthy level of grief enough that this time Henry has a tiny seed of fear that Jack would stop him this time not physically but emotionally. Wouldn't exactly be the Yellow Crayon speech, but it could happen.

I've been watching the third season of SG:Atlantis on the DVDs and happened to see Mckay and Mrs. Miller last night. That was the first time Hewlett has made me tear up. "How are you? Are you happy? Doing okay?" ::sniff::

Oh, crumbs, I just loved that episode beyond the telling of it. Loved it much more than the Mckay-is-a-chick episode (which was fun, but turns out that Hewlett, like almost all blokes, can't play a woman without resorting to pastiche).

Such fun seeing him onscreen with his actual sister! Has anybody seen that movie he made with her, and with several of the other SGA folks? Because the trailer looked hifuckinglarious, I have to say. Would love to see it.
