I was kinda enjoying the ep. The Jo stuff threw me, as did the resolution with the church. But that's personal issues. Guess everyone got the fear of god put in them despite the actual causes for the weird happenings. So false. Ick.

I really was frightened though, that Henry would step through. Joe Morton just rocks.

Did people catch Zoe's, "Bored now" when she was talking to Jo? I thought it was a coincidence, but after the Hellmouth reference, I'm not so sure.

I liked it, and I like the multi-layers of Jo, that she can be strong and still insecure, although she should have called the guy out for being an ass too.

Heh, thought the EXACT same thing about the preview. I'm guessing this might be the episode CFerg referred to earlier - Maneater. And double-heh on that.

Yeah, sj, I don't mind that she has insecurities - who doesn't? I didn't like the way it played out here, though. Maybe I'm projecting again, but I was just so turned off by his boorish behavior that I couldn't believe Jo's reaction wasn't "T'chyah. See ya' later, dude." But rather to go into "He's so smart/I'm so dumb." Just... blech.

Loved that Jack was completely comfortable leaving Zoe in Stark's care. "He's pretty OK at what he does." (Paraphrase). Loved that.

I'm not the one to pick apart what we know of Jo and analyze whether this covers for that and if this other thing can coincide with that thing. It's just, soft-gooey Jo-center never equated in my head to "Dr. Laura Schlesinger's '10 Things a Woman Should Never Do'".

Having trouble finding the right guy, sure. Believing she's lesser than anyone smarter than her? Hell no. I pegged her with more self-confidence and self-worth than that. That she puts on a tougher front than she really is does not equate to stupid inferior chick in my book.

It makes me sad.

Totally. I think that's going to be a big plot point, along with the Henry/Jack stuff that's been bubbling up.

"Just gotta have a little faith" (paraphrased) makes a special guest appearance! I wonder if this through-line is going to have some sort of wonderful payoff. I hope so, cuz I latched onto it since Once in a Lifetime.

Ditto. I thought she walked out of brunch because he was an elitist, insensitive ass. Now, she very well could be insecure and feel what she was telling Zoe, but I couln't see her actually telling Zane that. It took her a while to open up to Carter about her dreams, why would she blurt her fears out so quickly to someone she's only just met? Gah! I want to slap the writers.

I have a horrible feeling they came up with a great character (Jo) and now don't know what to do with her. It could be worse - they could be setting her and Carter up (next week notwithstanding where it's SUPPOSED to be a shocker to Jack) - but I don't know why they keep trying to farm her out her out as needing to be with one of the guys around.

Still hoping she might save Henry from his Kim obsession (much as I'd love Kim back), but that seems to be the only place the writers won't go. Hrmph.
