And again, I think he just doesn't want so much blood on his hands. And knows that ain't gonna happen, not with the things he needs to do.
That's what moved me so much about Smith's desperate sadness at the end -- even *the Doctor* doesn't want to be this person, with the ruthlessness and the darkness just beneath the skin, but he has to be. Because the universe needs the Doctor.
OK, this is an example of why I love the character of Bernice Summerfield

No, only the New Adventure novels. But they ought to find a way to write her in sometime.

There are lots of things I want to know. That among them, of course. I still don't buy that there's no connection between Gwen and Gwyneth in Unquiet Dead
I liked the little reference to the TARDIS imparting the perception filter on the stone.
Or Timmy and Gwyneth?
