A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Yes, Colin Baker was the one noone liked! I wish I had caught more of the new series but I'm looking forward to catching up on BBCA's airings.
Aw, I always felt bad for him. They gave him the most incredibly stupid outfit, poor bugger, and the Beeb was starting to be sort of embarassed by the show and...but I thought he was a pretty good Doctor. It was just that the show had been going so long that it was no longer cool, and then there was that STUPID coat...and I think they even gave him Bonnie Langford as a companion, iirc.
Did we see this? - Doctor Who taking a break - season five not 'til 2010.
I was just coming to comment on that!
I mean, I'm chuffed as all hell at the possibility of seeing Tennant play Hamlet opposite Patrick Stewart's Claudius (and, damn, am I ever going to try to get my arse back home to catch it) but...for the love of heaven! WTFF, Auntie Beeb? WTFF???? I, this - I mean, for
fuck's sakes,
you can't just put a show on a year-long sabbatical!!! With 3 crappy specials!!!
....except you can.

I suppose I should be glad that the Beeb isn't more commercially-minded. I like that about them. But still.

Tell that to HBO and Sci-Fi.
Tennant play Hamlet opposite Patrick Stewart's Claudius
Gleeb!
Gleeb!
Well, yes. (In Stratford, for the RSC, natch.) So it's not like there's no upside.
But still.

I just noticed that one of the meds I used to take for migraines "may [...] increase glutamate-dependent GABA synthesis." Which made me giggle in light of last week's Eureka. And reminded me of the "GABA hey" aside, and I'm not sure why "gabba hey" should trigger anything in my memory...and am too tired to google.
No personal memories of the Ramones?
Me? Absolutely not. My exposure to them has been recent and more than spotty. But there is a bit of my brain that can usually recognise a pop culture joke, even if I have no idea what it's about.
