Art Crawl!!!

Amazon has season 3 for $69.99 - Torchwood isn't up on their site yet.

But 30% off of 70.98 is about $56.04.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

or that Carter gave him the inside scoop on how to woo her.

That pinged me too. Giving inside information about a friend's interests to another longtime friend that you can vouch for is one thing, but some jackass guy off the street that you had in jail not too many hours ago? Beyond the pale.

Jo should find a female equivalent of Fargo and arrange a double date for them as retribution.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I thought he was a horrible prig and can't accept the fact that Jo actually seemed to be warming up to him or that Carter gave him the inside scoop on how to woo her.

I think that Jo was responding to the blatant interest. I think that she is warming up to the idea that he doesn’t find her intimidating.

"It's becoming a running gag. Every episode they throw another suiter at her. Maybe the season finale will have her fighting off the entire town (except for Carter, who is immune to everything) and we'll discover the dirty little secret about that perfume she wears."

So, from “Band Candy” to “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered”. EVERYONE steals from Buffy!

Yeah. The line between "dumb" and "childish" wasn't very clear. I think it would have worked better if it were more like "Band Candy", and it was explicit that everyone was acting like a child.

Yeah, I agree. It felt very band candyish. It would have been better if the lack of gabba also reduced inhibitions.

Giving inside information about a friend's interests to another longtime friend that you can vouch for is one thing, but some jackass guy off the street that you had in jail not too many hours ago? Beyond the pale.

I think that returning the money to the foundation raised his esteem a lot in Carter’s eyes. Yes, the guy is a jackass, but he has a good heart, and that’s what Carter finds important. Plus, I think that Carter sees that a lot of his attitude is bluster.

Is this guy going to be a regular. If so, I suspect that they added this character to skew the demographic younger?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That pinged me too.

Yeah, definitely a sort of betrayal of trust, and not what I wanted out of that previous interaction.

I did like the guest dude, though, dunno why.

I liked that things moved along in the overall plot. I liked the vet having to step up and work out of her comfort zone, and I agree that the chemistry between her and Carter was strong.

I didn't mind the MotW plot other than it being all Band Candy. Definitely thought it was more on the side of childish than dumb.

I did wonder about the implication that wrestling viewers were dumb, though. Pushback at Sci-Fi Channel's exciting new programming choices? Hee.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Jeans and a teeshirt? I can't make alot out of that.

I was thinking of that short sleeve collared shirt he had over the t-shirt, and how he (like Giles), was dressing like he did back in the day.

I was amused as all get out that smart or dumb, Stark just doesn't like Carter in a very amusing way.

Zenkitty - Aug 29, 2007 8:19:11 am PDT #5917 of 10001
Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I could buy Stark having once been - briefly - a slacker surfer dude, after he'd realized that he was too smart for everything, and before he'd found something interesting that he was smart enough for. I loved him and Allison sitting on the steps going, well, if this doesn't get fixed, we'll just be dumb together. I like Stark and Allison together better than Jack and Allison.

There is considerable overlap between the intelligence of the smartest bears and the dumbest tourists.

I really liked the guest actor (the genius criminal one) and kind of hoped he was going to hang around.

Seriously? I would have to stop watching the show. I gave up on the episode last night, and I really like _Eureka_. He was the sort of creepy, sleazy, sexually harassing character that revolts me in real life and isn't the slightest bit amusing even on the screen.

What is even happening?

Seriously? I would have to stop watching the show. I gave up on the episode last night, and I really like _Eureka_. He was the sort of creepy, sleazy, sexually harassing character that revolts me in real life and isn't the slightest bit amusing even on the screen.

I would have hated him in real life. I found him entertaining on my screen. Besides, they showed us why he was like he was, to some extent.

And even though it's counter to the show's standard, I'd love to see an ep someday where someone other than Carter is the only one immune to the MOTW that incapacitates the town.

He wasn't immune to the dream sharing, and there was the episode where he was stuck in that virtual therapy thingamabob.

but I'd have loved to see Carter and Stark trying to beat each other at foosball while Zoe and Jo run around trying to fix things.
Oh, yeah. Or perhaps basketball. That may just be me.

Because you can be plenty smart and still watch "Dexter's Laboratory."

Yeah, although I really enjoyed that Henry was watching wrestling, not because I'm pigeon-holing wrestling fans, but because it disturbs my sense of order that the Sci-Fi Channel airs wrestling, particularly after Eureka. Put it on after that Superhero wannabe show, and maybe I'll enjoy the subtext (even if I never, ever watch wrestling).

(Though her dress really was lovely.)

Yes, I coveted it.

That didn't ping me a bit, because by then Carter had come to like him, and knew that Jo was at least a little twitterpated by him.

Allison almost redeemed herself when she said "I feel like I'm losing myself" and was actually upset about what was happening to her.
I remember thinking that, too. When Carter was so tender with and protective of her, it made me all melty. I suspect CFerg has the BBOC factor in spades, though.

Ripper casting rumors - no doubt unreliable.

The fact that they're talking about Josh Whedon's Ripper does not inspire credulity in me.
