I do draw a distinction between actors and producers, though. I have spent a lot of time talking about fandom with Ricky Manning, and other than the issue of admitting to the obsession, I didn't feel nearly as uncomfortable as I would have if I were talking to any of the actual cast. Because it's not Ricky or DK's body I'm manipulating like an action figure, to make my stories work. Nobody's imagining the writers' bodies screwing like bunnies in the back of the Impala, or whatever.
But that's just my position, and YBMV.

There was one big problem with the whole premise of the episode, which is that if you were just watching someone's else's dream, you'd be seeing it from their perspective, not your own. So instead of seeing Jack's birthmark, you'd just be sharing in his experience. But that doesn't make for as much fun, so I understand why they didn't play it that way.

Not always though. I've sometimes dreamed from a removed viewpoint in which I could see myself taking actions. Dreams is weird.
